Sorry to post on such an old thread, but I thought I would say something here just in case people find this searching for this problem as I just have. It appears to be a problem with the First Gen Core i processors. I am having the exact same problem in a machine with a Xeon W3520 (i7 920 equivalent) my GTX 760 gets roughly half of the scores on the Nehalem Xeon, compared to my i7 4790K machine. Oddly enough I tested a GTX 750 card in the Nehalem machine and it performed almost the same as the GTX 760 (this is in both OS X and Windows). So it could just be that the first Gen Nehalem i series has a weird glitch with this card or that is where those CPUs bottleneck.
