A friend of mine decided to try the guide here after seeing my succesful 10.6.8 install. However he can't get video acceleration working and I am out of stuff to recommend him.
He has a Gigabyte mobo with an i7 CPU. Install works, comboupdate works, multibeast works (he tried both easydsdt and dsdt from database here). Network gets installed, sound also but video produces no ripples in dashboard.
What i reccommended and he tried:
-updated mobo bios
-select graphicsenabled=yes (64 bit): results in crash after reboot and requires reinstall
-select graphicsenabled=yes (32 bit): doesnt do anything
-tried nvplugins in multibeast: long shot but only thing I could find with nv in it (was actually looking for nvenabler which is mentioned often but not in multibeast
-found an nvenabler file online: doesnt appear to do anything.
what I am not sure of
-seems to work out of the box for some
-many people mention nv enabler but unsure where to get it (right version?)
-what does nv plugins do?
-also read posts to try nvenabler en nvinject, but where do I find nvinject.
