Hi,

I recently bought the Nvidia GeForce 740GT (2GB DDR3) because I found no other way to solve the "DSMOS has arrived" error, which is related to the AppleIntel* Graphic kexts.

So far everything is working fine, video playback as well as video editing in FCPX.

However, I noticed that the graphics card isn´t shown as the GT740 but simply as "NVIDIA Chip Model 2048 MB".

LuxMark gives me a score of only 125, and identifies the GPU as "Unknown".

I didn´t install any drivers for the GT740, as it was working OOB. Before installing the graphics card, I put some Nvidia kexts which I found here in the forum in the "Extensions" folder. Bildschirmfoto 2014-09-16 um 18.48.17.png

In another thread ( http://www.tonymacx86.com/graphics/139672-280x-only-830-luxmark-whats-wrong.html ), somebody suggested to delete the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext and
AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient.kext. What do you think?

Does somebody have an idea how to make my hackintosh correctly recognize my GT740?

PS: System def. is MacPro 3,1

Thank you

Followed lots of bad advice; removing kexts ensures an impaired system. Clean install with Guides/10.9 Installation.

Actually, I didn't delete those kexts, it seemed a bit "adventurous".

Btw, what would be a normal LuxMark score for that card? I didn't find any results on the internet.

UPDATE: I installed the Nvidia web drivers for 10.9.4, the graphics card then was correctly recognized but the performance on my hac was very shabby, LuxMark even just gave me a score of 90. So I switched back to the OS X Default drivers.
