My first post so Hi all!

After 5 months of flawless working hackintosh, I got this problem. I shut down computer because of the lightning storm, when I turned it back on, the resolution changed to 800x600 as a "best for display". I have the option to use scaled and there are a lot of options, but when I choose 1920x1080 60Hz (which is my default display resolution) i get black "unused" borders left and right, and the whole picture is a bit stretched.

graphics card is GeForce GT430, 2GB ram

I tried "Graphics mode" in org.chameleon.boot.plist
I installed NVIDIA CUDA

It didn't help. It is a low budget graphics card, but it is compatible, and everything worked fine 5 months :/
I updated the system to 10.8.4 and still everything worked, but all of the sudden this happens.

I hope someone has an idea?

This shows setting that I used

This illustrates how it looks (I don't have this exact monitor)

I was able to reproduce this issue. In the attached image you can see Overscan option. When I turn it on the black border disappears immediately.
