I am trying to set up Yosemite on my HP ENVY 15t Quad TouchSmart (Windows 8.1). I have created a boot drive which I tested on another laptop (windows 7) so I know it works. In my bios I have turned legacy mode on and Virtualization Technology off. Since Legacy boot is on I tried making a boot drive with the legacy support on and one with it off. I also tried a bunch of different flags such as verbose and toggling the GraphicsEnabler. No matter what I try I always get the same result. The gray apple screen loads for a second that the computer goes black a second and it boots up windows. Is there same setting I’m missing in my bios (insydeh20), is there some flag I need for my setup, and when I create the boot drive should I select the Legacy Support option. This is my entire component list:
HP ENVY 15t Quad TouchSmart
• Windows 8 64
• 4th generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ Processor
• Intel HD Graphics 4600
• 15.6-inch diagonal Full HD BrightView LED-backlit Display (1920x1080)
• 8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
• 1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
• 24GB mSSD Hard Drive Acceleration Cache
• 6-Cell Lithium-Ion Battery
• No Internal DVD or CD Drive
• Backlit Keyboard
• HP TrueVision HD Webcam w/ integrated digital mic
• 802.11b/g/n WLAN
