i7 3770k
Graphics
Apple 5770 radeon

I recently updated to 10.6.8. using combo update, and multibeast 3.8.0
And now have sluggish graphics.
It works, but i cant watch movies in VLC, and certain screensavers doesn't work.
It's like everything is like a movie playing 10 fps.

I have an Apple branded Ati 5770, with 2 displayports and 1 DVI.

What am i missing here?

Thanks

First Thing... you might want to repost this question in the "The Build > Post Installation > Graphics" board. This board is mostly for general questions about Mac OS X, I believe.

I guess one quick diagnostic is to check if hardware acceleration is working. Call up dashboard and add a widget. If the widget pops of with "the cool water ripple effect", hardware acceleration is on.

Another thing I've noticed is that my graphics performance varies with what Mac ID I am using. For my setup, I get better performance if I am spoofing an iMac ID rather than a Mac Pro.

Thanks man.
Adding a widget doesn't look that cool....it just pops up.
Right i have macpro id, i will try with the imac.
Posting this in post installation as well.
Thanks.
