Graphics Card for OS X & Gaming (Win)?

Hi,
I bought an ATi 7850 these days to upgrade my old 9600GT. I was very pleased while gaming in Windows with it (no problems with BF3 @ Ultrasettings), but sadly I can't boot into my OS X (still using 10.6.8)

Can anybody advise me a similar card, that will work with OS X? Wanted to upgrade to ML soon, if SL is the problem...
Or is there a way to get the 7850 working?

Wanted to spend 230€ max., should be as powerful als the 7850 (min 2GB etc...)

Would be very thankful for any tipp, as I'm searching for hours and don't know what to do/buy now :/

I have the GTX 650 which works OOB for OSX and fine with drivers installed for windows. It was only about 120 bucks, so in your range you could get the 660 which would give you some more horsepower.

yes, but I've read that the GTX660 doesn't work, so I would need a 660Ti, is that correct?

I believe so, but I'm not an expert on GPUs. The 660ti is on the CustomMac list, though.

You should go for the GTX 660 Ti if you want run it OOB and without troubles.

I have a 6870 (ATi) but, with 10.8.1, the second monitor flickers while scrolling and to install the OS requires me to remove this card and put in an old nVidia 550ti (which has other issues, according to some).

That and Skyrim, on Windows, plays at 60FPS with the 660ti and 48FPS on the 6870 with comparable settings...

Not that I game, I do mostly graphic and web design (2D stuff). The 2GB of RAM will be nice with Photoshop's plug-ins (e.g. Droste) for higher resolution (over 8.5x11) images...

I've read mostly good things about the 660ti...

Short feedback from my side:
got the Gainward GTX 660Ti Phantom today, plugged in and set GraphicsEnabler=0, than followed slugnets guide. By now, everything works fine and I'm very happy
