GPU change question

If I am looking to upgrade from a GTX 760 to a 980 will it be as simple as just swapping out the card or will it be more involved? Has anyone done this or can any provide some info on how it should be done?

I'm running windows 7 and mountain lion

980 requires the latest nvidia web drivers and only works in Yosemite

And I assume to update to Yosemite will involve some other work?

Follow that, even tho it says mavericks it will work for ml

So I finally got everything up and running, except my wireless usb adapter, and was thinking. For my graphics card right now I had to add nvda_drv=1 to my plist so if I switch the the 980 now should I have to change anything?

As long as you have the latest nvidia web drivers you should be good to go.
