Gobias’s Comet Lake Build: Prime Z490-A - i7-10700K - RX 6600 - macOS Ventura & Windows 11 Pro

I tried a lot of them from 0.8.2 to 0.8.8

That one is 0.8.4 if im not wrong

OK. ocvalidate identified some missing keys in your config, but none of them is related to the GPU. You can try copying them from the 0.8.4 sample config, but I doubt it'd make a difference.

Code:
OCS: Missing key Strategy, context <Block>!
OCS: Missing key CustomPciSerialDevice, context <Quirks>!
OCS: Missing key ForceAquantiaEthernet, context <Quirks>!

There are two things that stood out to me in your config.

First, I'm curious why you have this device property for the RX 6600:

Second, I wonder if disabling your iGPU with the -wegnoigpu boot argument is having any impact:

Other than that, I'm not sure what the issue might be.

The device property is only so it appear on "About this mac" --> "System report" --> "PCI"

I will try it without -wegnoigpu lets see

Nope, I tried it without -wegnoigpu, and same thing happened.

Hello, first of all, thank you for this excellent guide ! @Gobias

I have a x99 system based on the legend KGP's iMac Pro build... which is well served for several years but it is quite old in these days. I am stuck with High Sierra so I am considering to update my system to z490 mobo with 10th gen CPU once and for all before going for Apple Silicone.

I am a pro musician and audio engineer working with Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Logic Pro and excessive user of UAD cards so, Thunderbolt is a MUST for me. I have now Gigabyte Alpine Ridge Thunderbolt add-on card on the Asus x99-a ii without any problem.

I found same mobo as yours Asus Prime Z490-A for a fair price on second hand market...
My question is, if I go for similar build as yours, is it possible the "GC Alpine Ridge" thunderbolt card work with Asus Prime Z490-A ???

btw; here is my system details:
Asus x99-a ii
i7 6950x
samsung 960evo m2
EVGA GTX1050ti
GC Alpine Ridge Thunderbolt add-on
etc..

Thanks.

What if you also remove agdpmod=pikera?
Nah, I tried that before it didn't work. At the moment, I'm testing if its something related to the new motherboards 600 series. I will try it with an old x99a.

I've never used a Thunderbolt card, so I couldn't say. The manual for the Prime Z490-A includes instructions for installing the Asus ThunderboltEX 3-TR card (see screenshot below), which obviously Asus would prefer you buy, but that doesn't mean your card wouldn't work. I found some reviews of the GC Alpine Ridge card that said it worked with other Asus motherboards, but I couldn't find anything specifically about using it with the Prime Z490-A. It might work, but I can't say that for certain.
