about the crackling color, maybe caused to changing room temperature? I had that several times.

I was originally planning this as a summer project because I thought I'd just go outside and do all of the painting I wanted. There's been a construction project on my building that went WAY past schedule, so I had to get creative. Obviously painting indoors isn't very ideal, neither is painting in a room with lots of furniture, etc. But on the weekends, when I can get away with it, this really works well. I can lay down a few coats, and then head out for some weekend fun while the paint cures. I leave the windows open and come back to find my place smelling fresh. I'd NEVER recommend staying inside while immersed in paint fumes, but with enough ventilation, respiratory protection and proper coverings, there really isn't much of a downside to using a bedroom to paint hardware.
