Just thought I'd start a thread which summarizes all we know about the new 9-Series Gigabyte boards. Please share your knowledge and thoughts about layout and design!

(I'm not totally sure about posting hyperlinks that lead to news-articles, but here we go.)

Look great- lots of new stuff coming to support Haswell refresh CPUs. The Broadwell CPUs won't be out til Fall- those will be the true next gen for 9 series boards.

By modifying the URL, I was able to get other manuals, especially one is interesting for me.

If you want information about one of the new boards, just change the name of the motherboard in the URL for yours.

I tried fishing for the ITX manual and couldn't find it.

Interesting. That says the ethernet is still Intel. Looks like they slapped the Z97 into the schematic added a couple SATA ports and called it a day.

Some sites showed a gaming version of the ITX with a few more changes... haven't come across that PDF yet.

The Gaming-ITX hasn't shown up for me, but rather the GA-Z97X-Gaming 5.
When trying to open the ITX manual located on asian servers, indicated by the N in the name I get redirected to it.

I meant when I went looking, I couldn't guess the filename that you were successful in guessing. I'm able to see the PDFs just fine.

Yes, I noticed the redirection of z87n to z87x.

I guess I was holding out hope for an M.2 slot, but I seriously doubt the z87n gaming has it. Even if it was on the back, you would still see the back of the mounting standoffs looking at the front side.

To figure out which boards will likely be best when they arrive, I started a spreadsheet with some of the specs such as audio, network, size, etc.. Not anywhere close to being finished, and def not an official document:

The 6th SATA3 connector is missing and the GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 has it. Go figure
