Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Hey @CaseySJ , wondering between two SSD's: WD_BLACK 1TB SN850 and Sabrent 1TB Rocket 4 Plus. Could you share your NVMe speed test?
Here are the results.
  • Sabrent Rocket 1TB PCIe 4.0 (not Rocket Plus) with 1st Gen PCIe 4.0 NVMe controller
    • Tested on Gigabyte B550 Vision D with AMD Ryzen 7 3800X and Monterey 12.1 beta 3
    • Read: 4000 MB/s
    • Write: 4150 MB/s
Note that my WD SN850 is the 500GB model, which may be a bit slower than 1TB and 2TB models.
  • WD Black SN850 500GB PCIe 4.0 with 2nd Gen PCIe 4.0 NVMe controller
    • Tested on Gigabyte Z690 Aero G with Intel i5-12600K and Monterey 12.1 beta 3
    • Read: 4000 MB/s
    • Write: 4900 MB/s

@CaseySJ any chance to activate video output on GC-ALPINE-RIDGE-NVM21-V3-NATA.bin?
I just did the following and honestly I am surprised that it actually works. I have only GC-Titan Ridge and GC-Maple Ridge.

Hardware Involved in this Test:
  • MSI RX 6800 XT Gaming X Trio GPU with 1 HDMI and 3 DisplayPort connectors
  • Flashed Gigabyte GC-Titan Ridge v1.0 with NVM33
  • Asus MX27UC Designo 4K monitor with 1 USB-C, 1 HDMI, and 1 DisplayPort connector
    • This is not a Thunderbolt monitor, but Titan Ridge supports DP over Thunderbolt/USB-C
  • Gigabyte Z690 Aero G with Intel i5-12600K running Monterey 12.1 beta 3
Cable Connections:
  • DisplayPort output from RX 6800 XT connected to mini-DP input on GC-Titan Ridge
  • USB-C to USB-C cable connected between GC-Titan Ridge and Asus 4K monitor
Result:
  • It worked immediately after the two cables were hot-connected; no reboot needed

Hmmmm! So it is a hardware issue. My Alpine Ridge doesn't have video output. Everything else work. GC-ALPINE-RIDGE-NVM21-V3-NATA.bin has 2 DROM inside:
1)
thedrom=71000000000000ed00c8912ecc026a00ed0019800201088180028000000008829001800000000883800480010000088490038001000002c50b8620010064000000000003878005885040000589500000058a500000058b5040000b01474947414259544500120247432d414c50494e45205249444745000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

This values are from one of my tryings. Not from original GC-ALPINE-RIDGE-NVM21-V3-NATA.bin.

I tried to touch on both DROM, the Display PortAdapter but without result. CaseySJ, here maybe you can give a hint.
GC-ALPINE RIDGE-NVM20-V1-Elias64Fr.bin and GC-ALPINE RIDGE-NVM20-V2-Elias64Fr.bin give video output but don't activate TB.
In this moment the Alpine Ridge owners have 2 options:
1. Use genuine firmware and hope that some ACPI guru fix _GPE (hot plug issue) - unrecommended
2. Use GC-ALPINE-RIDGE-NVM21-V3-NATA.bin with all working, but without video output - recommended. Another minus is: after windows or linux, computer stall. Cold boot is necessary.
@CaseySJ, @Elias64Fr a hand, please!

I just installed a Toshiba 4TB HDD for the Aero G via the board's SATA Port 2. I have BIOS F6a installed, and I'm using your EFI V5 slightly modified for my CPU and Titan Ridge card. On boot I'm now getting this OC "notification" flashed on screen before the OC Picker is displayed, then booting to Monterey continues normally. The Finder displays the HDD normally.

OC Notification.jpg

This drive was formerly a backup drive for another computer and had not been reformatted prior to installation. I have now reformatted the drive APFS with the Monterey Disk Utility and continue to get this "notification."

SATA.jpg

To experiment, I did flip the "Aggressive LPM Support" and "Hot Plug" values for SATA without effect.

I wonder if anyone else with a SATA drive installed has seen this?

Do you have any clue what this might be? Perhaps it's just an OC bug? I'll just continue to ignore it for now.

used to get that with clover

you are not using apfs.efi with opencore as that is not needed..?

@Feartech

No I'm not using apfs.efi in my OpenCore EFI at all. I never saw the message until I added the SATA drive.
maybe you have some form of debug / logging enabled in your config.plist?

Because the screenshot says AppleLogging we can try unchecking config.plist --> Misc --> Debug --> Apple Debug.

Unfortunately unchecking config.plist -> Misc -> Debug -> Apple Debug did not affect the "notification text."
Let's try enabling HideVerbose as shown:
