If you have multiple identical NVMe drives in your Aero G Z690 DDR4, it can become rather tricky knowing which drive is which, especially if they are the same manufacturer and model. In macos, the BSD (Unix) name you see in disk utility for a particular drive may be disk0 on one boot, and disk2 on another. To make certain what drive you are using, you need to do a "get info" on the drive and get the device tree path. You need a map to know which is which.

On the attached diagram, in red is the device tree path in macos for the four NVMe slots.

In purple is the BIOS root port bus/device/function for each of the four NVMe slots. You will likely not need these unless you are configuring the Intel RAID in the motherboard BIOS.

Disabling HS14 only disables Bluetooth, but not WiFi. When both Broadcom cards are installed, we have two instances of WiFi. If this works in Windows 11, but causes boot loop in macOS then it will be necessary to physically remove one of the two cards.

However, one experiment to try is to disable the on-board WiFi and Bluetooth in BIOS. Then macOS should be able to boot up.
It looks like I have to physically remove the BCM94360NG because there is no option for disable wifi card in AERO G bios.

Ouch!

On the Asus Z690 boards -- both ProArt Creator and ROG Strix Z690-i -- there are options to individually enable and disable both WiFi and Bluetooth.

But on the Gigabyte Z690 Aero G, it's considerably easier to remove the BCM94360NG than it is on the Asus boards because:
  • The M.2 slot for this module is located under one of the large NVMe/Chipset heat sinks.
  • We just need to remove GPU, but we can keep the motherboard mounted in the chassis.
  • On Asus boards, the module is located under a shroud that covers the IO panel. This requires us to completely remove the motherboard from chassis, which means disconnecting all of the power cables, front panel power/LED/reset cables, audio header cables, fan header cables, RGB headers, internal USB headers, front panel USB-C header, front panel USB 3 header.

@CaseySJ, I found an SSDT for spoofing the 6900XT to a 6950XT and it works. Just thought I would drop this in just in case some else wants to buy one. It works in Big Sur, Monterey and Ventura. I am using your Aero G EFI 0.8.3

Nice! I am using an Apple TBD w/ my Z390 and Flashed Titan Ridge card. I have been wanting to upgrade to a Z690 system but was worried I wouldn't get my Apple TBD working with it.

Are you using a flashed TR card, or how are you getting it to work? Do the speakers and camera work too?

I assume this with with the Aero G? I saw you also posting on the Asus Z690 thread.

Cool. I assume this is with the Z690 Aero G DDR4? Do you have any benchmarks? Which processor?

Sorry, more questions - Does sleep work Ok with the Apple TBD plugged in? Does the monitor turn on from a cold boot and stay on for reboots?
