Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Just trying to do a fresh install of Big Sur but my Vision D won't see the USB install drive on Boot. Have tried another freshly created stick but no luck.

Any ideas?
In such circumstances we should perform a cold boot (shutdown system and flip power switch on PSU to OFF for 10 seconds). If the USB drive is still not listed in the BIOS Boot Menu (F12 during boot) then it might not have an EFI partition with a folder called EFI. And inside the EFI folder there should be a BOOT folder containing BOOTX64.efi.

Thanks for the tip.

I have several macOS USB install sticks which normally work fine but I still can't get one to appear on my system on boot (see attached). It was working fine before but I have now tried several USB ports with several usb sticks but none of them work. They are visible in the OS once I boot up.

Is it possible I have changed a setting in the BIOS?

Very odd!

Please try the following in the order shown. After each step, check if the USB flash disk appears in F12 BIOS boot menu. If not, then try the next step.
  1. Cold boot
  2. Reset NVRAM
  3. CMOS Reset --> then configure BIOS parameters again

Tried all those options but still no luck. No USB stick visible on boot at all.

With all my hangs still occurring at the Gigabyte Splash Screen and no memory faults detected, I'm beginning to wonder if I have a faulty motherboard.

Does the USB disk contain an EFI partition?
Have you tried different USB ports? Including USB 3.0 ports?

Final option would be to re-flash the BIOS!

Hi all... and Casey ;-)
I tried to install the new EFI to activate the Wifi as I don't have an extra Wifi card and was using only Ethernet which is perfectly fine for me.
However this is what I get and I can't add any wifi connection.
After checking everything the only difference I mays have if F6 Bios but I doubt there is any interference.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance fot your help,
Mac
Hello @DominiqueGormand,

Are you referring to the IntelWireless EFI zip posted here?

If so, do you see the WiFi icon on the menu bar? And does it show any properties?

Also, please run the following command in Terminal and post the output:
Bash:
kextstat | grep -v apple

Please try Reset NVRAM from the OpenCore Picker and then boot into macOS. Does WiFi appear?

Also ensure that SecureBootModel is set to Disabled.

By the way, do Bluetooth devices connect and work?

I'm pretty sure securebootmodel has to be default for itlwm to work
