The best/most stable BIOS for Z490 Vision G is Version F20 :-

F21 is probably best avoided. No option to downgrade once it's updated. It's primarily patching security vulnerabilities. No idea how that affects running macOS on a Z490 VG.

Here's what Gigabyte says about F21...

• Introduce capsule BIOS support starting this version.
  Customers will NOT be able to revert to previous BIOS version due to major vulnerabilities concerns.

If anyone has flashed F21 I'd be interested to hear about the experience with it.

Complicated to explain.

Simple version:
It's a new(er) way of deploying firmware. With the shift to it, you cannot revert to the 'old' way of deploying, so you cannot downgrade.

Yep I completely agree with you on this, thats why i recommended F20 in my post.

For me F20 is stable and pretty complete. I do seem to remember reading a few posts a year or so ago, where one or two users encountered issues with F21 (i think it may have been to do with PCIe dGPU but don't quote me on that), I seem to remember that they tried to downgrade to F20 but no dice due to the new format of F21+.

Since then I've avoided going any higher than F20.

All that said I'm sure there are systems out there running F21 without issues but I'm sticking F20 for now.

I have also added a BCM94360CS2 card. The card is detected but it does not find any networks. Is there any trick that is missing to make it work on the Vision G?

Not sure if I need to set the country code or anything else...

I've had no problems with F20. The system has been super stable.
As for the updates between F6 and F20, the main changes are :-

1. Enable Resizable Base-Address Register (Resizable-BAR) option to enhance GPU performance.
2. Enable platform communication with Intel® Cryo Cooling Technology
3. Update CPU microcode version 0x34
4. Update Intel Management Engine Firmware 14.1.53.1617
5. BIOS update to be compatible with 11th Gen Intel® Core™ Processors
6. Improve UHD BD (4K BD) support

I've only ever run F20 as updating the BIOS was the first thing I did when I got my motherboards.
So I can't comment about if there would be any issues upgrading from F6 to F20.

If it was me, I would do the following :-

1. Make a note of all your BIOS settings
2. Update the BIOS to F20
3. After update enter BIOS and load optimized BIOS default settings and then save / reboot.
4. Re-enter the BIOS again and apply your own settings from your notes.
