Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

Greetings all, keep getting this error from app store when updating. Not on all apps, just on some. I can get round it by deleting the app and reinstalling. No other issues with iMessage or app store. Anyone else getting this?

Good to know it's not just me. I think I have only seen it with Nord VPN twice and Messenger once, other apps seem fine. Maybe it is an app/app store specific problem rather than anything to do with our setups? I'll report back if and when it happens again

For me, it happened with an app called Hungrymark. After failing to download, I just tried again and it downloaded fine.

I’ve been on 9m since it was released and have had no issues but also no benefits. I wouldn’t upgrade just for the sake of upgrading but if you’re upgrading anyway I’d go to 9m.

I went ahead and upgraded. Ended up being more work than I expected as I lost all my bios settings. It wouldn't let me load in my previous saved settings since the bios versions were different.

Also, be careful if you are using the OpenCore launcher option and you deleted the BOOT folder in your EFI. You'll likely need to add the BOOT folder back into your EFI before upgrading your BIOS. I couldn't boot because the OpenCore entry wasn't in my boot options anymore and it wouldn't let me boot off my hackintosh drive because the BOOT folder was missing.

@tedyun and @pastrychef - Happened again today with the ironically named HP Smart app. Seem to have found a solution. In app store click on Store/sign out on the menu bar. Sign out. Restart. Sign back in to app store. Issue appears fixed. Note, signing out and back in on the app store without the restart didn't work for me

That's good to know! It's surprising how many of these little problems can be solved by a power off/on cycle, sign out/in, etc. My Apple Watch wasn't unlocking my Mac for a while there, and I couldn't figure it out. But, then I read to turn the watch on and off. Lo and behold, it was that simple!

I have been having all kinds of random shutdowns with my BIGSUR iMacPro 19,1 build Designare z390 with Radeon Vii > 4k Samsung U32J59x Monitor via DP1.2
-v slide=0 keepsyms=1 dart=0 debug=0x100 alcid=11 shikigva=80

The crashes were often from scaling the monitor to 2k or 1920x1080 or playing back video content in chrome.
Other times I would find the mouse starting to lag, iStat showed high memory usage, and by changing the resolution of the screen I could avert a crash. (It would refresh the Memory on the GPU)

@pastrychef, I have just tried your latest 6.7 EFI and Bios suggestions iMacPro1,1 which I applied to my F9i bios. So far I have not had the crashing in chrome. I gave it a good workout exporting from Davinci Resolve, VideoProc, Playback of Videos in Chrome, and Apple TV. Seems to work great.

I did have one KP when the screensaver kicked in, I came back and the machine had restarted.
Would you recommend USBWakeFixup.kext?

Getting this GPU to work reliably has been a Pain.
It seemed that framebuffer was the problem previously, I just couldn't find a reliable setting for it.

One other question. My Motherboard always changes time and goes hours into the future. Is there a way to synchronize the time of the motherboard to a different time server? My log files are always from the future!

USBWakeFixup just helps the system wake with one mouse click. Without it, I needed 2-3 mouse clicks before the system would fully wake. It's not meant to fix any kernel panics.

Try running without WhateverGreen and see if you still get kernel panics.

I sold my Radeon VII a few weeks ago, but I never had any major issue with it. My system was extremely stable. However, I never tried running macOS on any resolution other than the native 4K and I don't even have Chrome installed.
