Please try out the 2 files provided here:
Both files must be copied to CLOVER/ACPI/patched folder in the EFI partition of your Mojave SSD. Then reboot. This will only work if the Titan Ridge card is installed in Slot 4 of your motherboard.
I assume that these will only work with the designare (with Titan Ridge)?

@elfcake,
  • Your motherboard has three M.2 slots. The macOS NVMe should be kept installed -- you should not have to remove it and reinsert it.
  • Is Windows installed on a 2.5-inch SATA SSD or also on a M.2 drive?
  • You can also keep Windows disk installed at all times.
  • When you boot the computer, simply press F12 at BIOS splash screen and choose either the Mac disk or the Windows disk.
  • If the Alpine Ridge card does not appear in Windows, you don't have to reinstall Windows. The Alpine Ridge card sometimes needs to be reinitialized like this:
    • Power down the system.
    • Remove power cable from wall for 10 seconds (or slip switch on back of power supply for 10 seconds).
  • Also check that the correct version of BIOS is still running. Under some circumstances, motherboards will switch back to an older BIOS. So it's a good idea to enter BIOS Setup and check the version.
  • Once you can get the Alpine Ridge card to appear in Windows, reboot into MacOS (without disconnecting any drives) and run IORegistryExplorer and choose File --> Save As... Then upload the resulting file.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, the Win disk is a SATA 2.5 SSD. BIOS is F10, F11 and F12 causes Mac OS to stall while loading at about 75%. I have removed the AIC from the machine but will re-install it to see what happens and upload the IOReg.

These may require a little modification for your motherboard. Once you have the Alpine Ridge activated in Windows, you can reboot into macOS and upload the IORegistryExplorer file. That file will provide the details needed to modify the Thunderbolt SSDT.

For some reason, Windows will not boot when chosen from BIOS.

For some reason, Windows will not boot when chosen from BIOS. Apparently the Windows drive is damaged. Why? Don't know. Tried to access through Clover Boot Menu with the same results. Automatic Repair cannot repair the disk so I will have to re-install Windows (again).

Hello @elfcake,

Can you please describe the background:
  • What OS version are you running?
  • Are you trying to install a Gigabyte GC-Alpine Ridge card for the first time?
  • If so, what specific problems are you seeing?
  • Have you run Windows to initialize the card? Does it work in Windows?
Sorry, forgot... 10.14.3

I reinstalled Win 10 Pro and reinstalled the Gigabyte Motherboard drivers/software and then the Alpine Ridge drivers and software and still no Thunderbolt appears in BIOS. :(

  • Does Thunderbolt appear in the Windows Device Manager?
  • If you have a Thunderbolt device, what happens when you plug it in? Does that device appear in Device Manager?
  • You may also download and run HWINFO64 on Windows, then save the output in .HTM format and upload.

First, I read somewhere that if I have an NVMe in the lowest slot, it shares system resources with the lowest PCIe slot. I removed it and now have internet in both TB ports, in Windows. The AIC now appears in BIOS.

No to device manager although I am thoroughly ignorant about Windows so it could be there and I would not know it.

HWINFO64?
Restarted into Mojave. I have Internet through the TB>Ethernet dongle. I have a USBc flash drive that appears in Windows but not in Mojave through the AIC. The AIC is not showing in System Info in Mojave.
