Comments

I was a iMac user for many years. But I was tired of the fact that I could not upgrade the system, and, of course, the parallels of prices for these products sometimes. So I decide to build my first Hackintosh with the help of Tonymacx86 site.

All the components i selected it from the buyer's guide.

Installation Notes

For this guide keep in mind that is running Mac os Sierra 10.12.6, and I have tested only in this version of Mac OS.

Installation

Before start we should modify our BIOS settings to have a successful installation.

BIOS TAB
BIOS Features > Windows 8/10 Features > Other OS
BIOS Features > Storage Boot Option Control > UEFI Only
BIOS Features > Boot Option #1 > UEFI USB Drive

Peripherals TAB
Initial Display Output > PCIe 1 Slot
Peripherals > XHCI Hand-off > Enable
Network Stack > Disabled

Chipset TAB
VTd > Disabled
Internal Graphics > Disabled

For the installation I followed the guide of the forum > https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ierra-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.200564/

So, after the installation we have to run MultiBeast 9.2

We choose UEFI Boot Mode at quick start.

In the Drivers tab for the audio we must choose ALC1220 and 100 / 200 series audio.

In Misc tab choose FAKESMC, FAKESMC plugins and FAKESMC HARDWARE MONITOR if you want to have statistics for your hakcintosh.

Careful!! With Fakesmc plugins it will be installed and the FakeGPU.kext that's causes kernel panic. So before you reboot, we have to go to Library/Extensions and delete the FAKEGPU.kext

In Network tab we choose IntelMausiethernet v2.3.0

In USB tab, if you have an Intel 7700K, choose increase max port limit 200 series. In my case, because of the 6700K, I choose the 100 series.

In Bootloader tab we choose the third option Clover 2.4 UEFI BOOT MODE + Emulated NVRAM

In Customize tab for the graphics choose NVIDIA WEB drivers boot flag and NVIDIA Graphics fix up

In System Definition for the i7 6700K we must choose iMac 17.1 (for the i7 7700K, 18.3)

After all this we hit Build and Install.

Remember that you must not do any reboot yet.

It's time to install the graphics card drivers from the link bellow

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...for-macos-sierra-10-12-6-378-05-05-25.227494/

After the installation remember to not restart your PC...

To be fully working the graphic card we have to install the lilu.kext with KextBeast

Lilu.kext

One last step is to enable the audio. I was follow one other guide from the forum.

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...16gb-ram-m-2-nvme-alc1220-bcm943602cs.228467/

  • Audio ALC1220
To have the Audio working properly it is necessary to deploy (via KextBeast) the following most updated kext:
  1. AppleALC.kext
Also, it is necessary to change two parameters on config.plist (via Clover Configurator)

  1. Audio / Inject: 11 (On devices)
  2. Patches “change HDAS to HDEF” (On ACPI)
Find: 48444153
Replace: 48444546

After all these steps it's time to reboot. Remember in BIOS to choose your hard drive for boot.

What works

  • Sleep and wake
  • USB 3.0, 3.1
  • Audio
  • Ethernet
  • NVIDIA Drivers
  • iMessage
  • Facetime

FIXES

Fix iMessage
  • Leave Clover Configurator on the SMBIOS screen. Open Terminal.app and run "uuidgen". Paste the output in the SmUUID field in Clover Configurator (next to the Serial Number).
  • Copy the value in the Serial Number field
  • Go to the RtVariables screen on the left
  • Paste your serial number into the MLB field, and then:
  • For an Nvidia graphics / MacPro3,1 configuration, add 2 random characters or digits to the end, to make 13 characters total.
  • For an integrated graphics / iMac17,1 configuration, add 5 random characters or digits to the end, to make 17 characters total.
  • Enter a value for the ROM field. If you will use an Ethernet port on the machine, you can select "UseMacAddr0" from the drop-down. Otherwise, enter 12 random hexadecimal digits.
  • File/Save config.plist and Quit Clover Configurator.
Fix Shutdown (if shutdown automatically causes computer to reboot due to plugged in USB devices)
  • Open Clover Configurator, mount your EFI partition, and select EFI/CLOVER/config.plist.
  • Go to the ACPI screen and check the box for FixShutdown under Fixes.
  • File / Save and then Quit Clover Configurator

If you have any thoughts for better result you can post it here please.

Some screenshots and benchmark.

I forgot to mention that my cpu is overclocked @ 4.6

Hello can you help me i have similar setup im trying to install osx sierra .
Msi z270 M Mortar
I7 6700k what should i do to use only the cpu on board graphics please help

From your motherboard you should choose the on-board graphics. Then in MultiBeast check Intel HD 5XX series and intelgraphicfixup.

All the other settings is pretty much the same.

Also can you help me with this? I over clocked to 4.6, but its not showing in macOS.

My second problem is, if I restart and Clover does the 3 second count down, I get a circle with a slash. But, if I restart and move the button and let it sit for a minute, it boots up perfectly. Is there something I need to change?
