Hey,
I want to upgrade the GPU in my Hackintosh build soon and I got two options in mind.
The first one is a Gigabyte RX 590 8G (https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-RX590GAMING-8GD-rev-10)
The second one is a Gigabyte RX Vega56 8G (https://www.gigabyte.com/il/Graphics-Card/GV-RXVEGA56GAMING-OC-8GD)
I was wondering what GPU would be better in terms of support.

Right now I have a Gigabyte GTX 1060 G1 Gaming and running High Sierra 10.13.6 due to the nVidia Web Drivers, but I want to upgrade to Catalina after the GPU upgrade.

BTW, when I'll get the GPU, do you think its better to do a clean install or just swap the GPU and upgrade?

Thank you very much,
Ron.

if price is not a problem then go vega
the 590 is not on the supported gpus list on apple website anyway so it would be probably detected as rx580

Hey, thanks for replying!
The question is that if this specific GPU model will work because I heard that some models like the Gaming and the OC model doesn't work and unfortunately this is the only model that I can buy because they don't sell the Sapphire models where I live...

UPDATE: I got the GPU (Gigabyte RX Vega56 8G) and it just works!
I had to update Whatevergreen and Lilu but after that it works just fine.

BTW, after all I did a clean install.
