[SUCCESS] Gigabyte H61N-USB3 - El Capitan
Spec:
- GIGABYTE GA-H61N-USB3
- i5 3570K 3.4GHz
- 16GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE BLUE (2x8)
- ASUS/NVIDIA GTX 650 1GB
- 128GB KINGSTON HYPERX SSD
NOTE: DISABLE USB 3.0 FOR THE TIME BEING - This is found in your BIOS settings under Integrated Peripherals.
STEP 1- Firstly I followed the install guide provided on tonymacx86 found here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...-el-capitan-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html BUT STOP BEFORE MULTIBEAST INSTALL
For the Unibeast method go with LEGACY BOOT MODE as your motherboard isn't UEFI.
STEP 2 - When you have installed and are still using your Unibeast USB as your boot drive, use Multibeast to install the bootloader & Realtek 8111 2.0 kext ONLY (do not install any other kexts at this point).
STEP 3 - Restart and boot without your Unibeast USB. Clover should automatically start your OS.
STEP 4 - Download the kexts, dsdt.aml and config file for your board from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/308411-h61n-usb3-on-el-capitan-with-clover
STEP 5 - Download and use Kext Wizard to install the kexts USBXHCI_injector.kext & AppleHDA-ALC889.kext found in insanely mac zip folder.
STEP 6 - Create a directory on your OSX install called 'Extra' inside there, put the dsdt.aml file found in insanely mac zip folder.
STEP 7 - Nearly there! Open terminal and type the following commands:
mkdir /Volumes/efi
diskutil list
Now find your hard drive on the list and then the EFI partition's corresponding ID, mine is disk0s1
sudo mount -t msdos /dev/disk0s1 /Volumes/efi
STEP 8 - Inside the efi volume you just mounted there is a folder called "Clover" rename the 'config.plist' file 'config.plist.backup'.
STEP 9 - Copy the config.plist file inside the insanely mac zip folder to the "Clover" folder on the EFI partition.
STEP 10 - Restart, and enable USB3.0 in your BIOS settings under Integrated Peripherals.
BIG thanks to tluck on insanelymac and of course as always tonymac!!
I enjoyed this upgrade, although a little more challenging than previously. My iMessage also finally works in El Capitan, it hadn't been working since Mavericks before that!
Cheers guys,
Chris
