You are exactly right. I'd not realized I needed to do the updates. I in installed the Macbook Air 2.0. The 10.8.2 supplemental refused. Is it maybe already in my version of ML (12C3012)? I am very happy to report GTX650 is finally working perfectly with one display and one tv. No more blue screens! Still unable to get both GTX and HD 4000. I am using GraphicsEnabler=No and PCIRootUID=0 I'm not sure what the PCIRootUID=0 does.
Thanks.
JohnSRQ,
READ CAREFULLY the link to the thread I had sent you....it has everything you need to get it going for BOTH CARDS WORKING TOGETHER.
In total there are 4 graphics patches you must install in order for the card to work, plus a update for your org.chameleon.Boot.plist. First is the Multibeast Nvidia GT5xx Graphics Patch. Second is the Apple Supplemental 10.8.2 Update. Third is the graphics patch by Alfa which you must add to your setup called the
Patched MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 2.0 which you must download from Alfa's website (not shown here but google hacksbyalfa). Lastly is the Nvidia Mac GEForce drivers >
http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-270.00.00f01-driver.html.
Installation Procedure
1) Before you begin you must make sure your System Definition for the first three Apple patches is using the latest 2012 Macbook Pro and video memory size is 32MB with DVMT RAM set to Max in BIOS - otherwise it will not work. You can update the SystemDef with Multibeast under Customisation > System Definitions and select Macbook Pro 8,1. You can also select your Nvidia GT 5xx OpenGL selection (2nd option in Graphics under MB 5.1.3) here as well. Save and install the Nvidia Mac GEForce drivers.
2) Once that is accomplished you need to open Textedit and edit /Extras/org.chameleon.Boot.plist (which I have adjusted for your Nvidia GT 5xx card):
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">

<string>Yes</string>
<key>GenerateCStates</key>
<string>Yes</string>

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>No</string>
<key>Kernel</key>

<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>darkwake=0</string>
<key>Legacy Logo</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>2</string>
<key>UseKernelCache</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>device-properties</key>
<string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000005006201140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string>
</dict>
</plist>
Save the file and then go to Applications > Utilities Disk Utility and run Repair Permissions under the First Aid tab on your OSX drive then reboot.
3) Once rebooted you should be able to apply the 10.8.2 Supplemental Update and also Alfa's Patched Macbook Air and Macbook Pro Update 2.0. Reboot afterwards.
4) If your system works after applying the patches you can revert your System Definition back to Mac Pro 5,1 using Multibeast (which is considered the best setting for your machine).
