for those of u that r clean install freaks as myself nullcpumanment kext and voodootscsync isnt needed use chameleon wizard add module KernelPatcher note if doing a fresh install using uni stick add the module to it for x79 only also the flag cpus=1 flag wont be needed

Can you give us more explaining please?

the module KernelPatcher is for unsupported cpus aka yours x79 meaning u wont need the cpus=1 flag or the voodoo kext for cpu support. as for nullcpumanagement kext its only for mobos with a locked msr

Unable to Install

GA-X79-UP5 (F4u BIOS, optimized defaults)
i7-3930k
GeForce GTX 680
64MB Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHz RAM
Several drives attached

Hardware performs flawlessly under current 10.8.3 install on a different HD.

Trying to do a clean install of 10.9.2 using latest Unibeast from properly formatted 8gb USB thumb drive onto a new 750 GB Samsung SSD. Failure. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Boot flags tried so far:

none
reboots immediately

-x -v
reboots immediately

-x -v npci=0x2000 cpus=1
reads through several screens, shutdown and reboots at:
...Extensions/webdav_fs]
Starting Darwin x86_64
Boot agrs: Boot- [series of numbers and letters] rd*uuld -x -v npci=0x2000 cpus=1

npci=0x2000 cpus=1
reads through several screens, reboots at:
...Extensions/webdav_fs]
Starting Darwin x86_64
Boot agrs: Boot- [series of numbers and letters] rd*uuld npci=0x2000 cpus=1

-x -v cpus=1 npci=0x3000 UseKernelCache=No GraphicsEnabler=No
reads through several screens, reboots at:
...Extensions/webdav_fs]
Starting Darwin x86_64
Boot agrs: Boot- [series of numbers and letters] rd*uuld -x -v cpus=1 npci=0x3000 UseKernelCache=No GraphicsEnabler=No

So mine was different than yours in the respect of the video card and quantity of ram.

PCIRootUID=1 npci=0x2000 graphicsenabler=no -v

I may have done cpus=1 once but i don't remember....you have to run a kxt enabler to get it back to looking at all your cores.......

anyway try those listed above....from what I was told PCIRootUID=1 has to be as listed with uppercase letters and lowercase letters.....maybe it's not important but that's what I was told from someone......

Prosit.

I am thinking about starting a new build with the Xeon E5 1650 v2 and GA-X79S-UP5 MB and GTX760 video.
With 10.9.2 out and the latest Multibeast 6.2 what special things do I need to for a clean install?
Any special boot arguments, patches, etc. would I need to use?

Thanks

I'm using the same board bios F5f, with a Xeon E5 2680 V2 processor, and I am having a problem. When I installed the VoodooTSCSync.kext, and modified it so I can use all 20 cores, I still get a "TSC Unsynchronized on Core X"... If I use TSC_sync_margin=0 as a boot flag, I get a "using 16384 buffer headers and 10240 cluster" message and it just hangs. If I don't turn off all the cores in the UEFI, it also hangs at the "Using 16384" message, even if I use cpus=1. If I turn of 9 of the 10 cores, and turn off hyper threading, it boots. I would like this to boot with all 20 cores if possible. Any help would be nice. Thanks in advance.

I to would like to know about what is going on here. I am using the VoodooTSCSync.kext for 6 core machine. Ive just completed my build and am running 10.9.3 and everything works fine. I have a 3930k OC @ 4.2 GHz on all cores with no turbo. Ever since I started this build, upon review of the kernel.log, I have TSC unsyncronization errors on as few as 2 cores to as many as all 6. Now, immediately after that, I get another message about rendezous or something. Im not sure this is normal and/or ok or not. The system seems fine and I benchmarked in geekbench 3 Single Core - 3000 and Multicore - 22300. Sometimes, i feel like its sluggish when i know it shouldnt be, but I pass it off as in my head, but idk, I think something may be wrong here. Im on custom bios 4fw,, Was thinking about trying the new beta 5f bios or whatever it is. Here is what Im talking about in the log.. Please someone chime in here...
