Gigabyte B550 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + AMD Ryzen 7 3700X + AMD RX 5600 XT

Hi,

Thanks for the reply @CaseySJ ... below are 2 screenshots...
1. First one is the B550 Vision D using the supplied EFI in Catalina 10.15.7
2. Second screenshot is taken when booted to Windows10 using F12 (not using Opencore)

Let's have a look at the IOReg output via IORegistryExplorer. It can tell us whether the Firewire adapter is being recognized and if any downstream Firewire devices are attached.

Here we go...UAD Firewire Satellite is turned on and of course connected to Apples TB-3 - Firewire cable.

We can see that UAD Apollo is attached, but there's no sign of Apple's TB3-to-FireWire adapter. Thunderbolt port 2 is empty.

Please try this:
  • Hot plug the Apple TB3-to-FireWire adapter just by itself (i.e. do not connect the UAD Satellite to the FireWire adapter).
  • Then check IORegistryExplorer again.
  • Does the FireWire adapter appear in the list?

Might be worth adding a note to the Build guide regarding this since no Firewire was mentioned.

Now.... why didnt i think of that!???

Thanks @CaseySJ !!
Awesome!! Now I can add these devices to Post 1:
  • UAD Apollo
  • Apple TB3-to-FW Adapter
  • UAD Satellite via FW
