Has anyone tried to use a Sonnet McFiver PCIe card with their Ryzentosh? After installation of the new card--populated with a couple of Crucial P3 Plus SSDs, I can boot to Windows OK, but booting to macOS results in an initial success, followed ~ 5 seconds after login with the computer silently shutting down. It's very odd.

MacOS version is currently macOS Monterey 12.6.3, although with the log shown below it was still macOS Monterey 12.6.2.

Looking at the Mac's system.log (in other words, /var/log/system.log) shows the following immediately before the silent shutdown:

Code:

Removing the Sonnet McFiver card allows booting to macOS again.

For me, there's nothing obviously linked with this card in the above log.
You'll need @CaseySJ 's patches to use the Aquantia NIC with a Ryzen system, but it should be possible to boot even without the patches.
ASM3142 is supported and the PLX chip which must hide under this heatsink should be just transparent to macOS.
Unfortunately, I have no clue.

At $400 the card is not even obviously overpriced for what it is. But I'm perplexed that there's even enough of a market for it.

Ah, OK. I'll install @CaseySJ 's Aquantia patch next. Thanks for the pointer.

The latest Adobe patches now allows Photoshop 2021 etc to run. The only issues I have seen are Liquify and Neural Filters don't work - which is no big issue for me as I don't use those.

Anyone running Topaz apps, e.g Denoie AI, Sharpen AI etc, the Adobe patches work for those apps as well. Just change the path from Adobe* to Topaz*.
Hi. I know this was posted more than 2 years ago, but am wondering if you would give me more information about this workaround. I recently switched from Intel Hackintosh to Ryzen and got really hard times that TopazLab apps/photoshop plug-ins stopped working. I'm really looking forward to hearing from you!

B550 Vision D BIOS F15 released !
Seems to work fine on triple boot (win 11, Rocky 8.5, Monterey).

Thank you to both @etorix and @CaseySJ. The original 6-line Aquantia patch fixed the problem. (The updated compact 2-line Aquantia patch threw an error in OpenCore Configurator's kernel check for some reason.) macOS Monterey 12.6.3 working correctly now with the Sonnet McFiver card installed.

The 2-line patch also works properly. OC Validator flags a problem with it as you noted, but it’s not a problem.
