Yes, I have been good. There is a new beta bios for this board and also there are updated thunderbolt drivers for this board as well from intel. There are also new chipset drivers and 5700 drivers from amd and gpx release a few days ago for windows 11. Im running windows 11 and Monterey beta. I am good in general with audio. Im hoping i will buy @CaseySJ a beer or so when Monterey comes out and he will update open core for it while he is drinking it. :D
Ha! If you post your EFI (without serial numbers) I'll update it for you to OC 0.7.3. Also need to know which AMD Ryzen processor you have (to configure AMD kernel patches correctly).

A few notes. I run the tb 2-3 adapter and a rme ufx+, with my firmware i was having to flip the reset switch on the ufx+ when going to mac to windows but with the update i think that is fixed somewhat more. Sometimes after a cold boot i have to replug my rme tb cable in and then it works. Not sure if the updates have fixed this but im working in general with a few minor annoyances. I will check the firmware for rme after montery is released and then check again. I dont like dealign with this stuff that much. Rather make music.
Some questions about your Gigabyte X570s AERO G:
  • Which Thunderbolt add-in-card are you using?
  • Does Thunderbolt hot-plug work?
  • Does on-board Ethernet work (Intel i225-V)?
  • Are you experiencing any problems with sleep/wake?

** Changing CPU Name in About this Mac **

The RestrictEvents kext is finally working. On AMD Ryzen systems we can change CPU name in About this Mac by adding properties to NVRAM UUID 4D1FDA02-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B30102 as shown below, and enabling the kext:

First we enable RestrictEvents:
Screen Shot 2021-09-18 at 11.37.49 AM.png

Then we add revcpuname to NVRAM UUID 4D1FDA02-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B30102:
Screen Shot 2021-09-18 at 11.37.30 AM.png

And we must add it to the Delete section as well so that changes made to CPU name are accepted on each reboot:

Result:

For AMD processors with 1, 2, 4, and 6 cores please make this additional change:

For AMD processors with 8 or more cores, set ProcessorType to 3841.

Update on VirtualBox 6.1.26 (r145957) under Monterey Public Beta:
  • VirtualBox can start a VM right after installation.
  • After a reboot, VirtualBox will throw an error message when starting a VM.
    • To remedy, run the installer again. The VM will start.
      Screen Shot 2021-09-18 at 3.24.48 PM.png
  • After wake-from-sleep, VirtualBox will panic and reboot the system when starting at VM.
This may just be an artifact of Monterey.

Confirmed: VirtualBox 6.1.26 works correctly under Big Sur; we'll need to wait for Monterey support.

** Minisforum HX-90 **

Minisforum has started shipping the HX-90, a tiny computer based on the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX mobile APU with an 8-core, 16-thread processor and Vega graphics.

The HX-90 received some good press early on and some particularly damning press from Der Bauer and Gamers Nexus. The latter two cited misapplied liquid metal, false claim of carbon fiber in the chassis, and use of security screws for a system designed to be user-serviceable. They also noticed a misspelling on the box itself, which said:

AMD "Zen 3" Croe Architecture

As it turns out I just received my bare bones HX-90 and I am typing this from Windows 11 that has just been installed. Memory (two 16GB DDR4 SO-DIMMs) and 512GB NVMe SSD were purchased separately from Amazon. I am happy to say:
  • The misspelling has been corrected. The box now reads AMD "Zen 3" Core Architecture.
  • There is no liquid metal residue. The motherboard (both sides) is squeaky clean.
  • Security screws have been replaced with conventional Philips-head screws.
  • As for the misleading claim of carbon fiber chassis, it really does not bother me.
Time permitting I will try installing macOS Monterey or Big Sur to see how far it gets. Need to order a small 2.5" SATA SSD for that. Windows 11 is installed on an internal 512GB NVMe SSD.

@CaseySJ

I am planning to get this NVMe Adapter and install one M.2 drive and possible Bluetooth WiFi card in one more slot? Could you please tell which Bluetooth/WiFi card will be compatible with this adapter and this hackintosh. Thanks
The product description for the NVMe adapter states:
  • SSD M.2 SATA B-Key
  • M&B-Key
  • M.2 PCIe M-Key
Unfortunately these are incompatible with Key A/E (Socket 1) that is used by WiFi/BT modules.

This is Key A/E:

Look at the three items in GREEN. They are B Key, M Key, and M+B Key:

We can see that Key A/E is different and hence the NVMe PCIe card you referenced will not work with a WiFi/BT module.

@CaseySJ Here is my OC for X570S AERO G BIOS x570S - minus the serials

#1/2 I have a StarTech Akikio and the Apple TB adapter..THEY ALL WORK HOT PLUGED, I just tried it. For me when I go from Windows to Monterey just doing hot plug is good, and I'm set when I get in macOS after a warm boot.
#3 Ethernet is 100 percent good
#4 No issues with sleep wake...

This is a very good audio motherboard, like I said before

My AMD for the new OC 0.7.4 is
Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

The motherboard arrived on Tuesday while I was traveling. My first impression it that it's a BEAST. No joke; it easily ways 5+ lbs. Unfortunately, my new Corsair 7000D Airflow also arrived Tuesday but was severely damaged. I returned it to Best Buy, and promptly ordered a white 5000D Airflow direct from Corsair along with a custom water-cooling loop and 64GB of 3600MHz memory. I've got the 5950X in already, but have to wait for everything else to arrive later this week before I can start building my new rig. I'll let you know once I've got it up and running. @CaseySJ Thought you might be interested in the status X570 of my build. I'm having some issues sourcing all the parts for the cooling loop, but the main components are finally in the case. My 6900 XT and power supply will be last pieces to go in since they are coming out of my current hackintosh. Unfortunately, this build is going to take a bit longer than expected to complete as we are in the process of moving out of state.

So far, the build includes:
  • Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Extreme
  • Ryzen 5950X
  • 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe
  • Corsair
    • 5000D Airflow white case
    • Dual X5 360mm radiators
    • CPU XC7 & XG7 6900XT water blocks
    • 10 QL120 fans
    • XD5 Reservoir & pump
  • CableMod blue & silver custom cables for power delivery
