Gigabyte B550 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + AMD Ryzen 7 3700X + AMD RX 5600 XT

Until will figure out how RX 6800 will work in Big Sur, I update some results in 3DMark compare with RX 5700XT. Are insane!!
And check this link how IgorLab overclock this card to 2.55GHz !!! Using a script and flash 6800 with 6800 XT BIOS. ;)
Sorry for off topic!

Update about rx 6800 in my hackintosh. I manage to make gpu to boot in Big Sur 11.1 beta latest update using device id 0x73bf but unfortunatelly no diaplay acceleration only 14mb ... I spend good hours trying to find other way but without succes. Anyway is a step forward to boot in mac os with this card. Hopefully with the official update to 11.1 non beta apple make this card compatible.

Were you able to try the following hacks:
  • Inserting Device Property to change the Device ID to that of an RX 5700 series GPU?
  • Faking the Device ID with FakePCIIID?

I will try. Thanks

I got a voucher for a 5900x. Woohoo! Waiting to see if the 6800 is going to be in stock. #57 in line so hopefully they have at least 57 6800 cards today. 150 people in line, I got here at 6:00 am.

Doing the waiting in line thing is much easier in Sandy Eggo than somewhere that gets rain and 33 degree temps all morning long. :|

Though I live in the Bay Area of California, my brother happened to be driving through Cleveland last night and found both (a) Ryzen 7 5800X and (b) Radeon RX 6800 (non-XT) at MicroCenter. He called me immediately to see if I wanted to buy them, but alas I declined.

The RX 6800 was a Sapphire model priced a little high at $579 instead of $549. And I have a pre-order in place for the Ryzen 9 5900X.

Because I don't expect macOS to support Radeon 6000 series until March 2021 (this could change, but that's my personal best guess), I decided not to rush. Availability should be much better in early 2021.

This also gives me some time to rethink my strategy. At this time I am deciding whether to cancel my Ryzen 9 5900X pre-order and save up for an M1X or M2 Mac next year. A smaller form-factor Mac Pro with Apple Silicon would be much too tempting to me! :)
