the audio_cloverALC-110_v1.0s10.command just hangs after "download kext patches" 100%. Why might that be?
SIP is disabled (confirmed by csrutil status)

Real good job !
i have a question please.
Asus gives that motherboard compatibility with Thunderbolt EX 3
why and how use EX II ?

Good question! This is going to be a really hard working rig, need reliability. I wasn't even sure for thunderbolt II card support. I figured TH III card could have been even worst! Anyway: TH II is more than enough right now!

I needed to manually inject the RAM slots, quad channel and the number itself. Take a look at config.plist attached in the OP

EDIT: Ooops, I've just realized that the OP config doesn't have Channel options nor SlotCount. It should be like this
full

I'll update the file in the OP in a few seconds, sorry for the inconvenience!

This is awesome! Thank you giacomoleopardo for taking the time to post such a detailed guide. This just might be my next build...
Glad to help. If you'll ever do that, please report improvements here! Thank you

Well, there are some differences, actually:
  • CPU support - X99-A supports Broadwell-E cpus ONLY AFTER 3004 BIOS, so basically, if you buy the X99-A board, and it's running some other previous bios, you need to update that. How? Using an SPI programmer and flash the chip (careful!!!), buying an already programmed chip (perhaps with the latest bios) (safe and cheap, I would say) or buying an Haswell-E cpu and update the bios from Asus EZ Flash Utility. Please note that these are not advices! Just a few options if you decide to go for Asus X99-A rather than Asus X99-a II with Broadwell-E cpu
  • X99-A II has ASMedia® USB 3.1 controller
  • X99-A II has 1 x U.2 port

Thanks, I managed to get it up and running with a X99-A 1 board, gtx 970, 16 gig ram (will add more later) and the i7-6900k however, I cannot get my geekbench scores no where near yours, do you mind sharing your bios settings? I have it set to sync all cores @ 42 and my geekbench scores still maxing out at 29500

Read carefully the OP. There's a whole section for bios configuration, futhermore as I stated before, be careful with CPU Core Ratio: if you don't use Auto you won't have speedsteps. That means your cpu is stuck at 4200 MHz, no matter what. I wouldn't do that

Hi giacomoleopardo,

I've done the same as you injected the RAM (running at 3200Mhz in Clover SMbios screen but only 2133mhz in bios) I think it's just cosmetic as i've tried injecting also at the RAM speed they seem to be running at in the bios (2133Mz) and still get the same error messages in the boot.log
