Gaming with Parallels?

Does anyone here do their gaming in parallels with any reasonable success? I've done it previously with less than stellar results on my mbp but I was thinking about getting a new card (current 7850 too many quirks with hacks) and I'm wondering if it's going to be worth the investment.

Now I do have a win7 partition so of course I could just boot into windows. But I was wondering if the framerate is still reasonably close to native windows performance?

Parallels 8 has a good 3d performance, but is still bad and can't handle "new" games (0-3 years old).

It wouldn't be close to the native windows performance on most 3d or new games. As parallels emulates the CPU for the machine, there is an extra overhead and latency, which makes gaming a bad experience on parallels. Ever try running Adobe Reader on wine? You'll see what I mean once you try that.
