#### NOTES ####
Machine has been awesome so far: very fast, not too noisy either.
I love the hot-swap SATA bay, it lets me easily make bootable backups onto a removeable SATA disk.
Media card-reader is also very handy and removes yet another gadget from my desk.
Apple Cinema Display is excellent, with audio, iSight all working.
Sleep works fine.
Kernel panic every time I shutdown was fixed with the latest DSDT for this motherboard.
Problem with DVD drive going offline after periods of inactivity seems to be fixed by
disabling "Put hard drives to sleep".

#### REMAINING ISSUES ####
I get an error about overclocking when I cold-boot even though I don't think I am overclocking. I'm not an expert
on configuring the BIOS but I'm pretty sure I can fix this with some fiddling around with BIOS settings. It doesn't
bother me right now because when I do a restart the machine runs fine and seems to be rock-solid, running 24/7.

The bluetooth devices I have (Magic Mouse and Trackpad) all work perfectly, but their batteries seem to run down much
faster than I remember when they were being used with a real Mac. I have some other bluetooth dongles so I will experiment
and see if it caused by my current bluetooth dongle.

Extremely happy with the system so far.

hello, I have only one question and tnx fo the guide.

If I had all the same hardware except -> UD5 board with rev 1.0 version would the process be the same or I must do something else to get it work?
and corsair dominator 3x4GB sticks

please answer
:headbang:

Hi i have a fully working i7 920 5970 build running at 64 bit. My 5970 has a mini display port. Can the 27 inch cinema display work natively with my card. please advise, cos i really wanna get the display but im not sure if it will work. Anyway im also dual booting to windows 7. running on 10.6.4 with graphics update 1.0 installed. Everything i stable.

Thank you .

Congrats gambcl!

Did you have to do anything special to get the Apple branded Radeon HD 5770 to work?

@kitkonis: I think it should work the same, you will just need to get the right DSDT for your rev 1.0 board.

@vololo: I doubt the display will work with a non-Apple card. I heard a few people who tried the old 24" display had a blank screen with non-Apple cards, that is why I decided to get a true Apple card.

@cable909: I just changed the framebuffer to "Hoolock", as I mentioned in the guide.

tnx!! cant wait for my system to come:

ANTEC P183
Intel Core i7 950 (3,06Ghz, 8MB) BOX
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5
Corsair HX 750W
Noctua NH-D14
Sony NEC AD-7260S
OCZ Vertex 2 Extended 120GB 2,5" SSD
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB 32MB
Corsair Dominator 12GB 1600Mhz cl8 KIT
Gigabyte GV-N98TSL-1GI

pretty similar :)

What's the reason for limiting the RAM to 4GB during the installation?

Hi,
Is the RAM running successfully at 1600mhz? I'm curious since that Motherboard doesn't officially support 1600mhz. Any stability issues?

Thanks!
