For what it is worth switching to OpenCore is not as hard as it might seem. It is in my opinion a better boot loader than Clover, which I used for years on these same Hack's.
Just make sure you read & then read again the Clover to OpenCore conversion guide, alongside the Haswell Config.plist guide, both guides are linked below.

Use the EFI I provided in this thread as a benchmark, as it works on a number of Haswell Hack's, with only the Serial Number, MLB, ROM and SystemUUID needing to be changed.
