Hi all,

I am building a hackintosh with the following specs:

Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H Socket 1150 Intel Z87 Chipset

Intel Core i5-4460 Quad-Core Processor

ADATA XPG V1 Series Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600MHz CL9 DIMMs

Steps Taken:

1) Using MacBook Pro downloaded Maverick in Application
2) Downloaded Unibeast 4.0.2 and Multibeast
3) Created a 32Gb partion on USB stick, Mac OSX Extended Journaled, MBR, "USB"
4) Launched Unibeast and selected Maverick and "USB" - no laptop or legacy USB
5) Unibeast completed successfully
6) Upgraded Bios to F9C on GA-Z87X
7) configured BIOS as per Tony's recommendations:
- Optimized Default settings
- XMP memory set to profile 1
- Disabled VTd
8) Boot new box with USB Key
9) Quick flashing text : boot0: done
10) a "-" in upper left corner frozen - Can't even get Chimera Boot screen - the LED on USB drive is slowly flashing in a constant cycle

What I have tried:

+ different USB sticks (32Gb, 16Gb) makes and models
+ all booted into Chimera screen on other computers (a Sony laptop)
+ different USB ports

If anyone has encountered such an issue or have insights, I would appreciate the help and support.

Regards,

Sam.

Unplug all hard drives from your computer. Make sure it is powered off and then plug in your USB. Power on your computer and select the USB as the boot device. If that doesn't work, enter your BIOS and go to the boot order and set the USB as the first option

I am having the s problem with this CPU/Mobo combo.

I have swapped the CPU or a i5 4670 and i works perfectly.

Not really a solution as the CPU belongs to another machine and needs to be in there.

I anyone has any constructive suggestions I would be extremely grateful

Cheers

Paul

Maybe you just need a BIOS upgrade ?

The 4670 is supported by F7 but the 4460 needs F8 - Gigabyte

Good Luck
