GA-Z77X-UD5H: Boot Loops and KP after Yosemite Update.

Status
Not open for further replies.
Is the MacMini 6,2 is appropriate for your hardware configuration?? I think it should be one of the iMac 13,1 or iMac 13,2

Check here and find appropriate one :
http://www.everymac.com

The guide I uses says to either use MacPro 3,1 or the Mac mini 6.2. Choose the Mac mini because it might help with my problem (apparently better power management).

I rebuild the cache and fixed permissions but got a KP right after.
Quite a lot of apps like Safari are crashing as well and continue crashing if I reopen.

Yes. That's why asked you to choose the right one. Mac Mini 6,2 don't have K series processor (You have I7- 3770K). It have QM/M processors. Anyway this is not the problem of the panic (I think).

I rebuild the cache and fixed permissions but got a KP right after.
Quite a lot of apps like Safari are crashing as well and continue crashing if I reopen.

Open Disk Utility and verify disk permissions (under First Aid tab) of your OS X partition. If errors are there then Click on repair disk permission.

Once it is done check again.

Changed it back to MacPro 3,1 and repaired disk permissions.

Unfortunately I got a kernel panic right after it woke up from sleep after.

Changed it back to MacPro 3,1 and repaired disk permissions.

Unfortunately I got a kernel panic right after it woke up from sleep after.

Is the verify/repair disk permissions done??

Sorry Man.. I have no more clues on hand to give on this issue.

Thanks for all the help mate!
I always boot into the drive once in a while and havent had a KP in a while. No idea what I changed.
I keep you posted.

After a lot of back and forth and testing I found out that one of my RAM sticks was faulty.
Testing each of the 4 sticks separately showed that I one was throwing errors.
Getting it replaced soon and only running on 16GB at the moment, which is still fine.

Thanks for the help guys!
