Ga-z77x-ud5h audio problem can be fixed with usb speakers?

Ok, guys! I want to go straight to the point. There has been a lot of discussion about the ga-z77x-ud5h mobo and the green jack not working. Well if I buy USB speakers would that work?

Depends on which USB speakers you use as it must be recognized as an audio device. Probably would work fine.

I use a USB DAC to drive a NAD amplifier and some Paradigm speakers - sounds really nice!

I have used usb speakers on my hack for several generations now. This removes the need to fuss with the audio kexts, which are often tricky after installs and updates. I have Logitech z10 speakers, which have good audio quality. I know others have used the USB to audio converters, and there are some high end quality ones as well as cheapo ones available.

I've never used usb speakers but I have the ga-z77x-up5-th motherboard and after installing Realtek ALC898 w/o dsdt with multibeast, the green port worked just fine for me.
