GA-Z77-DS3H: System Freeze on File Transfers

Hi guys, I have the same MB, that is GA-Z77-DS3H rev1.1.

I troubleshooted this issue for a long time. You guys should follow this thread for any developments:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/to...ar813132515261627172-driver-for-107108/page-5

I tried a few tweaks at the driver level, but nothing seemed to work. So, I bought a separate pcie lan card, with the Marvell chipset, which is supported natively in OS X without any specially engineered drivers. And it has been working ever since, with no KPs.

This is the exp. card I got: http://www.koutech.com/proddetail.asp?linenumber=329

I used AtherosL1 kext on Maverick Z77-DS3H V1.0 ,super ! Copying file to NAS and back 2 days without freeze!!!Thank you

I have the Atheros 8151 chip in this mobo and after upgrading to Mavericks I had problems too with large transfers from my system to my Nas4free box(only to the NAS, not from it).
The transfers would finish, but took 10-20 times longer than usual. I tried over both SMB and AFP protocols, forcing smb instead of the new smb2 ..noting worked. At least I didn't have kernel panics.

After removing ALXethernet.kext and installing the kext in post 15 I finally got my transfer speed back. Thanks.

I'm having the same problem for months.

Yesterday I made a fresh install of Mavericks 10.9 and installed this package: http://www.osx86.net/files/file/733-gigabyte-ga-z77-ds3h-pack/ (google "Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H pack 1.4" in case the link doesnt work)

I was able to make a Time Machine backup in size of 25 GB to my NAS and imported 80 GB of pictures (from NAS) to iPhoto without freeze. It took about 8-9 hours of network using without freeze.
Usually the pc freeze after 1-2 hours of network using, I was never able to make a Time Machine backup or import my pictures to iPhoto on my Z77-DS3h. So it seems there is something on that package that solve this freezing problem. Unfortunately I have very little knowledge regarding Kext Installing and other drivers in OSX.

Maybe someone can check what this package contains and how can we use it.

Where can I find the source code for the LC1 kext? I'd like to compile it myself but there are quite a few repos and none of them mentions the explicit version of "1.2.3".

edit// found it (is it allowed to link to insanelymac here?)

I solved this problem as follows:
system settings/network/ethernet/ more... hardware config - manual
speed - 1000baseT Снимок экрана 2014-02-01.jpg

was also incorrectly patched wire. used only 4 pins of the 8. After these settings, the network works well.
sorry for my english))

this procedure worked perfectly for me. Thank you so much!

Hey guys,

Finally had to to mess with my Hackintosh now that I sold my MacBook Air ;)

I just reinstalled 10.8.4 today and noticed it was crashing as before, and to my amazement someone had posted in my thread here - I'm looking at you epal! Thank you!

I recompiled the 1.2.3 Atheros driver for 10.8. Here's a link: http://mu.ms/f/dc.zip for those of you who can't bother to do this yourself. I haven't tested it a lot yet - I'll post if it ever crashes again.

Here's a little guide for those of you that are stuck with the Multibeast driver:

Step 1: Remove old driver. Press Cmd+Space, Enter Terminal, press Enter, paste this, press enter:

Code:
sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ALXEthernet.kext

Then enter your Mac password. After this, restart. You will have no internet.

Step 2: Download the above file (You should have downloaded this before this step!). Do so AtherosL1cEthernet.kext is on the desktop:

Step 3: Run Kextbeast. You can download it here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=3

Step 4: Reboot. You should be able to check if the kext is in use by using this command:

Code:
sudo kextstat

You can verify that it's working if you have internet and the output includes your Kext:

Hello Guys, I'm having the same problem, when I try to transfer some file via Ethernet with my local network my hackintosh freezes and then i need to restart.

I have installed the ALXEthernet v1.0.2 kext, everything works perfectly, (my internet connection is fine), following the suggestions in this post I switched that kext with the one mentioned, the AtherosL1cEthernet v1.2.3 but after the installation my hackintosh doesn't even detect my Ethernet.

I'm runin OSX 10.9.2 Mavericks and I have a GA-Z77M-D3H

Could some one help me please.

Hi
I have the same MB - GA-Z77-DS3H v1.1 with F10 BIOS.

I search a couple of threads online,
http://www.tonymacx86.com/wiki/index.php/Network_Card_Database
Above link seems like the solution.

I saw a few people are using these cards and reporting with no issue.
I would like to purchase one for solving the freeze issue while transferring large size files via network to LAN storage system.

Is anyone who have solved this issue by using suggested wired NIC ?

Any experienced hackintosher shows your system with the MB and suggested NIC card?

Thanks

Hey guys,
Running GA-Z77-DS3H here with Rev 1.1. I've tried using the AtherosL!cEthernet.kext but on reboot my device isn't picked up. Is it only rev 1.0 who are having luck with this?
I've just installed this board and it's running perfect apart from I can't back up over my LAN which ideally i need to do every day.

Thanks!
