I'm running High Sierra 10.13.6 and I have a universal audio Apollo Twin. I'm not seeing anything clear on how to get the GC Alpine Ridge add in card to recognize the Apollo. Is anybody else having similar issues? Would it be better to get a Firewire add in card and run Thunderbolt 2 to Firewire adapter?
It's taken me 4 months to get the build working correctly and this is my last step so I can start producing again, any help will be appreciated!

Have you installed the driver for the alpine ridge card under windows? Apparently this is a requirement.

Any luck??

Some people have got it working well - Win 10 boot was a shock to the system... literally

But... yes, I'm having similar issues. It's a HUGE pain.

i got it to work *once* by plugging in the unit before boot, but after reboot nothing is showing... then... a trick seems to be - turning the Apollo on at the BIOS boot screen, while booting into Windows

(The UA software didn't work in Windows, but after rebooting to Mac, the Apollo is recognized... OMFG)

TB3 to TB2 Converter woes?
Initially, nothing was showing up until I plugged the unit in - but be warned, I'm not sure if the common Apple connector is cool.. it may have issues. I connect from the Apollo via a TB2 cable, via a TB2 to TB3 (USB-C) converter. I have a *supported* one on order (the cost of TB leads alone is insane... StarTech Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt Male-Female Adapter) and will advise when it arrives. See advice here

I'm guessing

Gigabyte install steps for Alpine Ridge rev 2.0
At the moment nothing is showing... I'm going to pester Gigabyte *again*, but initially they advised
- board must be in PCIx4 slot
- check cable from Alpine Ridge card to motherboard TB header
- reinstall Aorus TB driver (my card is Rev 2.0)
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GC-ALPINE-RIDGE-rev-20#support-dl-driver
- reboot to BIOS, select "load optimised defaults" (i.e. reset) and then (supposedly) enable TB under Peripherals.

I've never seen the Thunderbolt option show up under Peripherals, so I think the Gigabyte drivers are flaky (haven't tried turning it on at the flahs screen tho...)

I'm also using the latest (for me, the WIFI-OP board) F3 bios - it's available from the Gigabyte product pages (above) under "Support" page for the motherboard. Back up the BIOS you have to your EFI USB before updating, etc.
