I'm having trouble getting my computer to sleep and wake up from sleeping. When I tell it to go to sleep, the screen will turn off but the computer will still be running. and when i try to get it to wake up, it'll just freeze and i have to restart the computer over again. please help i've looked all over the forums and people are saying they found solutions and other are saying you just have to deal with it.

here is my set up
Mobo - GA-X58A-UD3R
Processor - i7 950
Graphics - evga 9800 gt akimbo
12gb ram
snow leopard 10.6.8 with multibeast

As of today I got sleep mode working with OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 with a GA-X58A-UD3R.

First in my BIOS my Power Management Setup is:

ACPI Suspend Type: S3(STR)
Soft-Off by PWR-BTTN: Instant-Off
PME Event Wake Up: Enabled
Power On by Ring: Enabled
Resume By Alarm: Disabled
HPET Support: Enabled
HPET Mode: 64-bit mode
Power On By Mouse: Disabled
Power On By Keyboard: Disabled
AC Back Function: Soft-Off
ErP Support: Disabled

Now, go to http://code.google.com/p/xnu-sleep-enabler/ and download the file "SleepEnabler.kext.10.7.x-10.8.zip", uncompress it and put the kext in /System/Library/Extensions.

Those are the steps I follow to make it work.

Now there's a file called "SleepEnabler.kext.10.7.x.zip" and the description reads "SleepEnabler for 10.6.x / 10.7.x updated for 10.7.3", you could try with that one.
