Board: Gigabyte GA-H97N-Wifi
Graphics - On board HD4600
Cooling: Cooler Master Seidon 120V Plus
Case: Thermaltake Slim X3 Low Profile
Power: Corsair CS 550 Watt
Storage: WD Blue 250GB(Test Install) | Samsung Evo 850 SSD (250GB) + WD Black 1TB (2 Partition (250GB OS + 750 GB Data)

I installed Yosemite 10.10.2 using Unibeast/Multibeast Guide http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-buil...ga-h97n-wifi-i5-4690-hd4600-two-monitors.html , but I always experienced issues waking up from sleep. Soon after computer wakes up from sleep it froze up and only choice I had was to reboot. Randomly the machine freeze up & this was really annoyed for me without any credibility of system. This system was installed on my SSD.

I had nothing to loose so I decided to start researching about Clover. My first hackiontosh was build using the "hackinstaller" script provided by other forums. This is was not my Rodeo. Everywhere I read, people said clover is for advance users.

I have a space Hard-drive (WD Blue) which i just use for testing purposes, so I disconnected SATA cables from my SSD and WD Black and connected only to WD Blue. I followed http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-guides/144426-how-install-os-x-yosemite-using-clover.html Guide to install Yosemite.

After the installation finished, following worked successfully.

- 2 x monitors connected via HDMI
- with Default energy saving settings Sleep/Wake functionality for short duration (30min) to 15hours.
- Graphics

Things that did not work

- Audio
- NIC

After doing some research on the http://www.tonymacx86.com

I was successfully fix:
Audio - https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverALC & http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/143757-audio-realtek-alc-applehda-guide.html

BOTH NICs - Installed AppleIntelE1000e.kext using Multibeast 7.2 and copied AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.10/

At this point I used SuperDuper to copy my WD 250 to the OS Partition on the WD BLACk, installed the boot loader and copy the kext back to EFI partition. Un-attached my "Golden Master", and Connected only the WD Black. Ultimately, once things look great after the 10.10.3 patch, I will use SuperDuper again to copy my OS Partition from WD Black to the Samsung SSD.

I normally used the OS Partition to have a backup of my production copy (SSD), this way I have a chance to test updates without having any downtime. This is something I had learn with my old Mackintosh and it's very useful.

-------[ NICE TO HAVE ]--------

- I run PLEX Media Server on my machine and once the machine goes to sleep, I can not connect to the server unless I wake up the machine.

Hi there, please could you upload you config . plist file, i have mostly the same as you but dont know how to use the clover loader...

Not sure what you experience is with Hackiontosh, but clover is easier than i though it would be. It's not as easy as the Unibeast/Multibeast but if you follow the Guide http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-guides/144426-how-install-os-x-yosemite-using-clover.html it has everything there that you need.

Then only thing missing in the guide a step in the POST Installation where you have to copy the files. I fixed that in the section section below.

6. Navigate to /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/ and edit config.plist
7. Navigate to /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/ and create a folder called 10.10
7. Navigate to /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.10/ and add FakeSMC.kext | http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=211
8. Navigate to /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.10/ and add your ethernet kext | http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=11
9. Navigate to /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/ remove VBoxHfs-64.efi and add HFSPlus.efi | https://github.com/JrCs/CloverGrowerPro/blob/master/Files/HFSPlus/X64/HFSPlus.efi?raw=true

Hope this helps..

...As I understand it, there have been no updates on the usability of the built in WiFi card, correct? That means I still have to replace the WiFi card in order to use WiFi?
No and Yes. I successfully replaced the Gigabyte WiFi/BT card with an iMac WiFi/BT card and adapter card, and my H97N system works well with my WiFi system and Apple BT keyboard and mouse. An unforeseen benefit of using the iMac WiFi/BT card is that the H97N system sleep/wake-up is works as it should and other operations seem smoother - I can't tell the difference between using the H97N system and my Mac Pros.

Hi Stork,

can you please clarify which iMac WiFi/BT card you used? maybe an ebay link?

BR,
F

The WIFI/Bluetooth card is from a iMac yes. But the one stork has is different to that one. Personally i think its better than others you can find etc.

that means that the iMac card fits to the mini-pcie slot of the h97n board right? do you know this imac card by model or part number?
