[SUCCESS] GA H61N-USB3 i7 2770k Working with Yosemite

I did a clean install of 10.10.3 OS X Yosemite on my Gigabyte H61N-USB3 (CustoMac Mini from a while back).
I use an Intel i7-2770K processor (Sandy Bridge), 16GB RAM, onboard video.

I made sure my BIOS was at version F8. There are a number of posts from people saying they had to rollback to F7, I did not do that. I also use the default GA-H61N-USB3 F8 DSDT from Tonymacx86. I use this computer as a media server for my AppleTVs. It doesn't have a display connected to it, so I didn't do any HDMI audio patching.

First things first, setup the BIOS.
 • Load Optimized Defaults
 • Integrated Peripherals > Set SATA AHCI Mode to AHCI
 • Power Management Setup > Set HPET Mode to 64-bit mode.

The original CustoMac Mini 2011 guide says to set the amount on shared video RAM for onboard graphics. I skipped this step. When I set this value, I was unable to boot into the installer; it would just hang.

Installing Yosemite

 • Prepare a Yosemite install USB with UniBeast.
 • Plug in a DVI monitor. (I also has success with HDMI)
 • Boot into installer using: -x -v -f PCIRootUID=1
 • It'll take a couple minutes to boot, but you'll see the normal GUI installer soon enough.
 • Install Yosemite as recommended. Reboot.
 • Boot into your new Yosemite partition using: -x -v -f PCIRootUID=1
 • Finish the installation (create your user account, etc.)

Final Notes
Everything appears to be working fine.
 • Ethernet is working.
 • I was able to sign into the App Store and download apps.
 • Video is smooth, detected as Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB. It can even AirPlay to local AppleTVs.
 • I have not tested sleep, as this computer stays on 24/7.
 • USB 3 works. 250+MB read, 225+MB write

Hope this helps someone out. :)
