Hi all,

I was looking for a cheap hackintosh so I searched an old gigabyte mobo. I bought locally GA-G41M-ES2L + CPU E8400 Core2Duo for 65$. I have also added an old Nvidia 8500 GT gfx passive card I already own (Nvidia EN210 works perfectly too). Onboard gfx is working with glitches, it works but is unusable for me. I also added 4GB, 2 x2GB 800Mhz DDR2 + 250GB SSD I bought for 70$ + old pc case + power supply for 7$. All computer is about 142$.

I confirm that this systems works perfectly with SIERRA: (sound, ethernet, sleep, wake up)

I used MultiBeast 9.0.1:
- Clover Legacy Boot Mode
- Drivers: Ethernet: Realtek RTL8111 v2.2.1 + Audio Sierra Desktop/Realtek AppleHDA Audio detection
- Bootloaders: Clover v2.3k r3766 Legacy Boot Mode
- Customize: Inject NVIDIA

that's all!
it works!

Thanks!
This board was my first successful Hackintosh attempt. Actually, the second one, (before I was using an old AGP/PCIx Dual Asrock mobo: It was a nightmare). If I remember correctly I got it after checking the, then, Buyers Guide section.

I still have it somewhere. Some time ago I was using it with a XEON 771 to 775 mod. Maybe that will give a nice second hackintosh machine. I might also have a Geforce 610 somewhere. I heard it also works flawlessly...

I'll keep the community posted.

*PS* I might even use an old Quicksilver g4 case on it! :)

BTW regarding delay on clock, I have found that E7400 delay happened with the same mb to a forum user. This CPU has 1,333 Mhz, so the BusSpeedKhz parameter on Clover / config.plist / Boot should be 266600 (calculated from 1333 x 200).

In my case E8400 runs at 1,033Mhz, so I will put 206600 on BusSpeedKhz.

I guess this motherboard has a problem with it and Clover can't calculate it accordingly. You can see E7400 and E8400 frequencies here http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core2-Duo-E8400-vs-Intel-Core2-Duo-E7400

I hope it helps.

PS: I am not sure if param x 200 is the right one. I have just read it on forum. Could you please confirm?

Thanks

Hi, May I ask, your motherboard BIOS carried out what settings?your motherboard does not support AHCI mode, how is this resolved?

Hi, sorry for late answer. Yes, it doesn't have ACHI, just reproduce my BIOS settings on first post, that'all. I confirm it is working perfectly today.
