Just installed Lion to the following:
GA-EP35-DS3P, E8400 Core 2 Duo, Nvidia 8400GS, 4GB RAM.

BIOS setting crucial to success are:
SATA = ACHI
SATA = Native mode
Initiate graphics first = PEG
hpet = enabled
hpet = 64bit
USB kb and USB mouse = enabled
JMicron SATA = enabled and ACHI

software install steps:
Installed OSX 10.6.3.
Updated to 10.6.6 (in order to get app store access, 10.6.8. breaks app store so used 10.6.6).
Rebooted (from iBoot still).
Downloaded Lion via App Store.
Created 8GB second partion.
Updated to 10.6.8. and patched with multi beast 3.8.0 (selected Easybeast and system).
Rebooted.
Ran x-Move.
Rebooted and chose lion install partition.
Let lion install complete.
Rebooted to Lion.
Added lin2mac NIC driver.
Added NVenabler for vid card QC. (from multi beast 3.7.3)
Rebooted.
All done.
