I've been wrestling with this for over a week now, and I'm beginning to tear my hair out. My Hackintosh refuses to start the desktop.
You can see what it does in this video(you'll have to tilt your head sideways because of my incompetent camera work). As you can see, the screen displays the pointer, which changes to a pinwheel, and then the screen goes black with some disturbance. It seems to start in safe mode but you can't do anything with it like that. You can find a startup log here.
The build is
Gigabyte GA-B75-D3P motherboard,
Intel i5 3470(with HD 2500 gfx),
8 gig ram,
1 Tb Seagate hard drive
10.8.5.
Thanks for your help.
