clover_icon_by_ivofarcry.png

First steps :Install Clover UEFIBootloader

Requirement:

make sure you prepaid usb flash memory 8 gb format as Fat32

install Clover

http://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/

simple guide to install clover bootloder:

After obtaining the Clover installer, first task is to install to the USB "CLOVER EFI" partition.

For Clover UEFI, run the Clover Installer package:
- select the target of the install to "CLOVER EFI" using "Change Install Location"
- select "Customize" (the default is a legacy install -- we need to change it)
- check "Install for UEFI booting only", "Install Clover in the ESP" will automatically select
- check "Bluemac" from Themes (the config.plist files I provide use this theme)
- check "OsxAptioFixDrv-64" from Drivers64UEFI

so don't worry after finish install

you most using clover configuration download from here:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=10

Than start the app you can skip update dialog update

Than you can start and check partition make sure you choose the correct partition next

choose disk mount EFI

after EFI Partition appear in your finder enter it

you see clover folder don't access to clover folder just remove it

and copy folder included with zip in the attachment in the same path

before restart make sure you enter clover in the efi partation and clover config

search line argu

make sure disable nvidia : nvda_drv=0 nv_disable=1

now you can Restart laptop

you most now get work boot with clover UEFI

Notes: Before Install Your Nvidia Driver :

after installing Yosemite using chimera or chameleon bootloder as legacy
so you can boot chimera /chameleon in legacy and clover in UEFI
After startup Yosemite from clover
check your GPU you see the value is 3 MB
than you can install the correct nVidia driver for your OS X version by check these link::lolno:

http://www.macvidcards.com/which-driver-should-i-install-for-my-new-gpu.html

please disable nVidia before that so after you install nVidia driver and before making restart just
enter clover config from EFI partition
and search arguments line that have command for disable nvidia replace that with command for enable nvidia

-v nvda_drv=1
Finally congratulation
You success to have nVidia Driver full work with your Mac OS X Yosemite

(note some time user face black screen through booting using clover just restart and try again if that happen with you )

note 2: nVidia have feature ECC i am not testing it yet

Hi Hio2

Appreciate you putting together this guide! I'm going to give this a shot and will let you know how I go.

By the way, did you end up using separate SDDs/Hard drive for OSX and Windows?

Cheers

Hello Hio2,

great work, thanks.

I've managed to install El Capitan 10.11.3 on my G751JT (same specs than yours) with NVIDIA Drivers.

Nearly everthings is working nicely out of the box. For WLAN i use the Edimax-USB-Dongle.

But i have problems to find the right Audio kext or settings to get it work. I have the Realtek ALC269 also. Can't figure out, whats needed to make the fat black baby to play a little music for me... ;)

Maybe you can help me or post the kext and settings, that you have choosen?

Thanks in advance,

Dirk

Audio using patched AppleHDA is covered in the FAQ and ACPI patching guide...

Thx, Rehabman,

i've got it to work for me! Cool!

I found a prepachted kext which worked out of the box instantly.

I have another problem, search the internet and didn't find a solution for it:

Im using a Cinema Display 27 with Displayport on my device. Its working when i boot with it, but no plug&play... every time i plug out (or in) the Cinema Display my main screen at the Laptop freezes, while the Cinema Display works, even pluged in/out after boot. Whatever i do, the main screen keeps freezing.

Only a boot with both display together will work.

Any idea why? Is there a know bug or any setting that i can try out to solve this?

Greetings, Dirk

You probably need to implement HDMI-audio. It often solves HDMI hotplug problems.

HDMI-audio is also covered in the FAQ (as is your specific question).

Do you mind letting me know what preached kext you used for audio? I can not find one that works anywhere.
