Hello guys,

I'm planning my first G5 tot ATX mod. Very early, i'm just drawing and looking around this forum. I have two questions. I want to strip the back and side of an regular atx-case and fix it in the G5. I couldn't find a thread where someone posted such a build, but i can't imagine i will be the first. Can someone show me a thread (with photo's) of such build?

Second, i'd like to watercool my CPU, but with a closed-loop aio system. I was thinking of Corsairs H110i (or GT or GTX). I want to mount the radiator to the top of the case. I wonder if the tubes are long enough. Someone tried this before? I can't find measurements, so if someone has this set, how long are the tubes?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Poljapp,

I took a similar this approach for my first G5 mod. Used existing atx case back and tray, chopped it up and bolted it to the g5 chasis.

I still use that machine. It's solid. But, I did do another g5 conversion using a laserhive kit, which, i feel was a much easier option to get a very neat result.

Best of luck with your mod.

Hi poljaap!

maybe you can check the tube length of the h100i. it really depends on your motherboard placement if it will reach the cpu if rads is attached at the top of the case. i think the top is also the best part to put the rads.

but if ever you changed your mind and put it in front of the case, you can visit Laser Hive's website. there is a bracket for 2x120mm fans which can also be used for a 240rads.
