My 1st Attempt at this G5 mod as i thought i had screwed up a perfectly working 2005 G5 computer as i am only making it up as i go along because I'm going to get rid of that beast of a cooler master sniper tower, I've asked a friend to cut the rear of the tower to fit the motherboard tray and because he didn't like anyone in his workshop he has made a great big hole in the case (the 4th pic) and layered the tray on a sheet as you can see in the second picture below and to make matters worse he has gone and bin the wireless strip on the rear of the case.... so i went and bought another G5 to see if i could have a go with a dremel tool my self then a thought occur to me to see if i could save that case because the G5 that i bought was one of the earlier model and im scared that i'll f*** that case up as well.

in the third picture from the left i have a USB/Firewire & power button front panel cable made for me by a guy over at insanelymac.com in Holland and some sata connectors i bought off ebay & how to make those cables i haven't a clue but i'll figure something out eventually.

Right so this is what ive done on my own in my kitchen and what a mess i've made.
First up ive cut up the psu because as planed was to chop up a pc psu to fit inside the g5 psu but changed my mind and going to screw the psu on the g5 psu case as seen in the 3rd picture.
i've also bought some edge strip that i will be using on all the edges of the psu and the rear of the case as you can see 6th picture.

hmmm the pictures seems to be the wrong way around, i dont know why this is.
well i have to call it a day now as my dremel tool batteries are flat from all that cutting so they are on charge for the next set of cutting that i'll be doing.

wish me luck ,i think im gonna need it
