macOS is just fast and it can handle large 3D objects. I built a machine that has exceeded my expectations
That 6 core i5-8500 with 9MB of cache surely helps you get all you can out of the RX 570. I still think that card at $120 is the best graphics card value you can currently get. Your 6yo has something way better than a console to play those games on.

Agreed. This is the best value to performance ratio card I've owned. I loved the 560 but the step up to 570 is huge in performance terms. All the games shown below are on the highest visual setting. The Yeston is pink!, but I think I'll hold off on that card and the eGPU idea for now!, I found much better value in this card.

Finished my first six hour 3D print yesterday, a mod for the G5 front fan guard, that I hope directs air over the motherboard. I created the plate that attaches to the fan guard in Affinity Designer, using a rough scan after tracing around the fan guard. The spirel cylinder was already an object in TinkerCad, I duplicated it, made it slightly smaller and cut it out from the bigger spiral cylinder to create the hole. The first attempt stopped 1/3 of the way, so I modified the design slightly and six hours later got this.

In anticipation of the Dynatron K2 arriving later today, I decided to remove the Tt Engine 27 from the Mac mini and install it in the G5. Also gave me the chance to completely remove everything and clean it up, lots of dust on the fans and board. I also had two new HP NVMe to install, I planned to replace the Kingspec NVMe that macOS is installed on with the HP EX920, but the Kingspec has been far more reliable and has already outlasted two HP NVMe. So decided instead to just install the EX900, above the X16 slot, the one below with Catalina scrawled over it is my Windows drive and apparently its down to 75% life. The Tt E27 fits great and because it's has a lower profile, the air coming from the front fan goes directly over the cooler, which intakes from the front. Definitely quieter than before but that could be because I cleaned the other fans.

I'm wondering what the advantage will be of using the K2 cooler in place of the Tt you removed ? Will it move more air ? Be quieter ?

Both @phunguss and @Charlee78 have one installed in their Mini's, and both recommend it. The K2 pulls air from the base through the copper grille and the mini has vents on the base. The Tt E27 pulls air from the top and even though it runs beautifully without the top cover, it felt incomplete!. Until I install it I'm not sure if it will be quieter than the Tt E27 or not, Charlee78 says it's very quiet, phunguss not so much. The K2 also has a vent and I have 3D printed phunguss shroud that connects the K2 to the rear vent in the IO. I based my decision on where the air is being pulled from and directed to and I think the K2 is more suitable. I still think the Tt is far more attractive but in order to 'complete' the build I chose the K2.

Upgraded the Graphics Card to a Sapphire Pulse RX580 8GB, I'd been thinking about a new card for a while, $180 on Amazon brand new, $10 less than on Newegg. It's a big heavy card, it fitted easily and worked straight out of the box.

Unigine Valley benchmarks using same settings as RX570, 8FPS improvement.

Score using Ultra Quality, still above 60FPS.

Sapphire Pulse RX580 8GB the "gold standard" for Hackintosh compatible graphics cards. Well built and made to last a really long time. Good choice.

I just completed my G5 dual socket/High Sierra build. Still have to add the wireless card, but am really enjoying the system regardless. I gutted the lower deck/old PSU and replaced it w/the guts of a Corsair SFX unit.

And very good it looks too @m0reilly. I thought about a similar cooler to yours, did it worry you that the weight of the cooler can bend the board, is that an issue?. Im not sure how heavy they are and after reading a bit about them, I wasn't sure if it was right for my build. Good job on the power supply, that's a very clean conversion.
