Hello,

My system running on 10.10.1 with Clover v2.3k 3185:
Core Quad Q6600
Gigabyte P35-S3G (non-UEFI)
XFX 8800GT
8GB PC800 RAM
LG 21:9 ULTRAWIDE 25UM65

(LSPCI info attached)

My display has a native resolution of 2560x1080.

I'm having some trouble getting full resolution in the boot loader, I have tried various combinations of the clover options such as patchvbios but always get 'Screen Output : Graphics Output (UEFI) 1280x1024' showing in the About Clover screen.

I have followed various guides including:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/300181-full-resolution-at-clover/

and

http://www.tonymacx86.com/graphics/...startup-edit-your-vesa-tables-amd-nvidia.html

Firstly I tried using my displays custom EDID in the config and enabling 'inject EDID' but it made no difference.
I then tried using patchvbiosbytes to replace 640x480 with 2560x1080, this seemed to have worked by reading the boot.log, but I got a very stretched screen in the boot loader:

I then tried to replace 1280x1024 with 2560x1080 and it improved but is off centre:

It also shows this in About Clover:

I have tried all different combinations of adding the EDID or not and having the various graphics options checked/unchecked.

I've attached my boot.log (without custom EDID/with patchvbios and patchvbiosbytes)

Can anyone please point me in the right direction or suggest anything to make this work properly?

Also, my airport does not show up in Yosemite and shutdown does not work (it just doesn't power off but seems to exit the OS) - if anyone has any ideas about getting them working then please share! :)

Thanks

In the Clover installer, did you install CsmVideoDxe-64? When I installed that I went from 1280 x 1024 at startup to 1080p.

I have a similar issue and I can't for the life of me figure out why I can't get full resolution at clover boot screen. I too have tried a dozen different combinations of EDID, VBios, putting video cards ROM in EFI folder, etc. but nothing works. I also always get the "Graphics Output (UEFI) 1280x1024" message in Clover's info screen.

CsmVideoDxe-64 is used only for UEFI motherboards and I can see that you have a legacy board as I do.

Everything worked fine before I upgraded my video card and monitor (EVGA Nvidia Geforce GFX 750 TI SC and Dell 2715H).

I really hope SOMEONE out there has a solution.

FYI, this is in my log:

Hi, i wonder if you've found any solution, having quite the same problem here, only diference is i've solved it partially and i even dont know how !
My MB is GA H67md2b3 so it's not UEFI (like yours guys) my video card is Nvidia GTX760 and working OOB, i get full resolution when booting from USB installers (built with unibeast any versions :Mavericks, Yosemite El Capitan, Sierra, High Sierra, so far)
So each time i install new OS on my hack i get full res in clover boot and through MACOS installation.
The problem is when i proceed to post installs and using clover bootloader : this is where i lose full res boot.
Many people i've asked told i shouldn't care as far as its just a fews seconds of screen booting and all the rest after all is fine. I agree, its just a matter of understanding why as long as its not a hardware issue !
I tried many things and even re installing from scratch everything... i succeeded to get full res on my El capitan drive using one particular vers of clover which is : Clover_v2.3k_r3320-Legacy-root and from this one i can update clover to newer versions, full res is staying on, but i'm not sure this is really why it works... Because installers on USB with Unibeast are all different versions of clover (depending on OS vers) so there might be something else,
Please someone explain us ?
TIA

No, after a whole lot of trying I just gave up. I was spinning my wheels for just a few seconds at boot time as you mentioned. I'm quite sure it has something to do with the bootloader versions and the combination of the hardware. I've noticed that I can no longer boot into Snow Leopard and I am sure it has to do with the (then) new video card. But I really have no need for SL anymore :)

Ok nevermind... thank you anyway
