Full range of brightness using ACPIBacklight

I usually use 90% brightness, and I'm satisfied with value in your 4540s patch. I think only 2 problems remain are: different levels before/after sleep and save brightness setting to nvram.

Next week, ... I hope to have it all done... We'll see.

Side note: HD4400/HD4600 is different. This technique stops with HD4000...

FYI: I noticed that on battery, my 4530s boots up to OS X with black screen (brightness at lowest level) and I need to hit the brightness up key once. This will be solved by save/restore from nvram though...

- for example, my BAR1 address is 0xd4000004, so adding 4824c, we have 0xd4048250
- view the memory as 32-bit dwords
- now you can see the 0x80000000 in the first dword at 0xd4048250 and the brightness value at 0xd4048254
I am stuck here, must be doing something silly...
my BAR1: 0xD4000004But I don't know where to locate the 0xd4048250?

Thx, missed that one.
So my range is 21 values + black, like the 4530S interestingly:
0xDA, 0xF5, 0x11E, 0x148, 0x17E, 0x1B5, 0x1F9, 0x24B, 0x29D, 0x30B, 0x378, 0x3F3, 0x47C, 0x512, 0x5B7, 0x676, 0x743, 0x847, 0x958, 0xB69, 0xD83

Interesting that your HD4000 has the same values as does the 4530s with HD3000. Seems like it might be more related to how the BIOS initializes the brightness levels... or something else...

I believe that HP 6470b and 8470p can share the same mainboard.
