Hi everyone,
i'm trying to install 10.10 on my Fujitsu Celsius h710.
The installer starts but after the usual kext load etc the screen goes black.
I tried to start boot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes pcirootid etc (in verbose of course) but still not work. Always black screen.
I've already installed yosemite on some desktop pc with no problem (unibeast+multibeast).
Anyone have some advice?
Thanks.
Simone.

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Hi RehabMan,
thanks for your tip.
Profile/signature updated with all the info.
I hope in your help now ;)
Thanks.

You have only Nvidia or both Nvidia and HD3000? Use 'lspci -nn' in Linux Terminal to see what you have. Or CPU-Z on Windows (Graphics tab).

If just Nvidia, you'll have to do some research into the proper flags to use (whether GraphicsEnabler is needed or not). Most computers have PCI root at zero, which is the default. If your PCI root is actually zero (as I suspect), but you're using PCIRootUID=1, GraphicsEnabler=Yes will have no effect. You should check your DSDT to see what your PCI root actually is.

This is my graphic tab on CPU-Z.
For the DSDT: I used is the standalone that unibeast installs on the pendrive.
I tried PCIRootID=0 and PCIRootID=1 with GraphicsEnabler=Yes and GraphicsEnabler=No with no luck.

Do the research to understand what is required to enable your Nvidia chip. Look at your DSDT to determine PCI root UID, so you're guessing about one less thing.

Ok, i have extracted DSDT.
Can you help me to understand how to read it? It's huge :eek:

Thanks.

To determine PCI root:
- search for: Device (PCI
- then search for: _UID

You find:
Code:
       [B] Device (PCI0)[/B]
        {
            Name (_HID, EisaId ("PNP0A08"))
            Name (_CID, EisaId ("PNP0A03"))
            Name (_ADR, Zero)
            Method (^BN00, 0, NotSerialized)
            {
                Return (Zero)
            }
            Method (_BBN, 0, NotSerialized)
            {
                Return (BN00 ())
            }
           [B] Name (_UID, Zero)[/B]

Answer: PCI root is zero.

Thanks a lot, learned something new today:thumbup:.
Unfotunately it doesn't work anyway.
The screen goes black in the same way with PCIrootID=0 :banghead:
Have you any other advice?
I tried with clover (verbose) too and the screen goes black in the same way.
Thanks again.
