From GA-Z77X-UP5 TH Z77 to GA-Z77-DS3H (hard drive hangs on apple screen)

Hey guys,

Used to have a really solid hackintosh using the GA-Z77X-UP5 TH Z77 mother board and other suggested parts.
I accidentally broke the mother board on a routine cleaning.

Since they are no longer sold, I got the GA-Z77-DS3H since its the next best mobo with the socket type I need.

Installed all the components, put back the same SSd hard drive with the working mountain OSX on it and after chimera it hangs on the apple screen.


Any Advice? I'd hate to start fresh there were still important items on that hard drive.

Ok, After using these Bios Setting

instead of the original instructions I read on here.

Exact same problem!! I broke my GAZ77UD5H. I had an extra GAz77ds3h so i put that in with the same HD that is running 10.8.5 and it just chills at the apple logo. can't even boot in safe mode. the loading bar gets about 1/4 threw and stops.

I tried booting the drive in a computer that has a gaz77ud4h and it boots and works just fine. graphicsenabler=yes and tried graphicsenabler=no in the bootplist. in verbose it gets stuck at iobluetooth. plugged in a bluetooth adaptor and it still doesn't work. it doesn't have a GPU

figured it out. Stuck in my unibeast maveric thumb drive. installed maveric, it restarts and i boot with the thumb drive and them go into your HD with safe mode. ran multi beast and all the necessary stuff. Done
