Hello. I've been reading through a whole bunch of threads and so far:
Working:
- I've managed to do a fresh Sierra (10.12.3) install on a M.2 Samsung PRO 950 NVMe from a Clover USB drive.
Kudos to RehabMan and Pike for their valuable posts. THANK YOU GUYS.
- It boots just fine from the M.2 drive with nothing else attached; no USB drives, SSDs or HDDs.
Again, THANK YOU to RehabMan and Pike.
- Changed the Clover theme to 'mlcamp'.
Wish it displayed the timeout countdown to automatically boot...
- Got audio working.
OK, headphones work on the Line-Out port on the back of the mob and the one front of the chassis.
Will try regular speakers this weekend.
- Wi-Fi works (2.4 and 5.0).
Will test Ethernet port this weekend.
- HWMonitor works...
Well, sort of; the readings are kind of weird... (See attached image. Fans are NOT running at 15,000 rpm).
BTW: there is a Corsair H100 v2 liquid cooler on the CPU.
NOT working:
- EVGA GTX 970 Nvidia Web drivers.
Installed the Web drivers, and the Nvidia applet shows up on the Menu Bar next to the time.
But after a reboot it always reverts to the OS X Default Graphics Driver.
NOTES:
I did a previous fresh Sierra install from Clover on a Toshiba SSD on this very same rig, and got all the way to the EVGA card to work, but I can't remember all that I did on that installation. But I'm pretty sure there were more kexts on EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other on that installation.
The lesson learned: don't try this after getting back from a party at 4 AM... Drunk...
The mouse is kind of funky. Seems that the double click speed needs a bit of work.
The cherry on the pie is that I want to install Win 10 on the Toshiba SSD.
Here's my config.plist and the kexts used on EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other and the HWMonitor info, feel free to check it out and comment.
Best regards.
